You know, I realized that the most important thing for a world to feel "large" to me is draw distance. High resolution textures are nice, but not a requirement. When I can stand on a hilltop and see for a couple miles in every direction, and I can actually see things in that distance, it makes me feel like I'm playing a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game.

I felt WoW achieved that in tanaris, but everywhere else feels really claustrophobic.

Arathi Higlands, Nagrand, Netherstorm, Hellfire, Silithus, Azshara kind of, all give that same feel if you have those alternate graphics settings on to get the extra clip and view distance.

i did not say it wasn't.

it really looked pretty amazing. i also really enjoyed playing it up to a point and 1-30 in ac2 is still the best mmo time i've had. ac2 also had the best classes so far i think.

The only problem I've found with the enhanced graphics macros is that it makes places like the dead scar where the basic doodads are something other than grass look absolutely absurd as you have 30 trillion skulls and bits of bone sticking up out of the ground.

Saban, I am sad over the fact I never got into Everquest when it was in it's prime. I jumped into FFXI Online just before Promathia came out too, so you could say I enjoyed the game a bit before it plunged into the shithole it is today. And unfortunately, I came into WoW too late to enjoy such epic content as Molten Core, Blackwing Lair. Hopefully I'll hit 70 before WoTLK comes out. Oh, and I had a brief stint in LOTRO before they nerfed Minstrel.

Anywho <_< How is EQ? Is everyone just the max level or are there newbies frequently coming into the game?

My guild is actually only 3 months old, everyone started fresh and from scratch for the most part and we're already raiding 3 nights a week. Mind you the content is 3-4 years old but old content in EQ doesnt invalidate itself every time a new expansion comes out and things remain challenging.

My interface looks like WoW because its a WoW Emu interface, the guy also made SWG/DAoC Emu interface pages too.

Yeah, that's what I want to spit on Blizzard for. They should have thought ahead because I would have really liked to have experienced "old world" raiding content. Raising the level cap was a stupid thing to do.

So, you're into content 3-4 years old currently? How do you decide what to do?

Basically decide what everyone wants to do and what would be challenging for us. Those screens are from Citadel of Anguish, from the Omens of War Expansion. That's the 8th expansion of 14.

Yeah, they're retooling Naxx as a level 80 25-man. Blizzard said they felt not enough people experienced it at level 60 since it came out so close to BC and it was one of their better dungeons.

I don't think their goal is to make it possible for everyone to see the instance, they want to make it an attainable enough goal so that more people will see it. Getting 40 dimwitted morons together with enough time off to waste their life on playing together every damned night to get the right enough gear to actually stand a fucking chance at getting past the first boss was difficult, getting 25 dimwitted morons together is slightly easier and (going out of a limb here) it's probably not going to be the highest tier dungeon in the expansion.

Alternatively: Blizzard knows how interesting Naxxramas is to their customers, so they're going to use it again so that they get more $texas.
