(edit) it doesn't really matter how you build Veigar, he has major issues. he can turn out to be effective, but in my experience that's rare
What major issues does Veigar have? He has always seemed alright to me if played well.
And I really don't think a Veigar that starts with Dark Matter will ever be as effective at any point in the game as a Veigar who takes Baleful Strikes and last hits with it. Not only do they make more gold (because Dark Matter takes quite a lot of AP to 1 shot minion waves) but he also has a higher amount of AP and will level faster.
Also, Dark Matter is far less effective in harassing enemies then Baleful Strikes, assuming you want to harass and not last hit for AP, at a certain point in laning phase it becomes less important to last hit minions for AP.
The issue with Veigar is he's awesome, but only in a particuliar situation: when the enemy just got too much AP guys. Otherwise he's a caster version of Tryndamere.
Woooooooo. Ragequit a ranked game. I will never play solo queue ranked ever again.
Pick Mumu. Beg my entire team to guard blue as I can't jungle without it and predict they're going to try the gank. No one comes. 5v1 fight, they kill me and take blue. Three of my team are typing in spanish.
You didn't learn from the last game you played with me?? people can't be arsed to travel 10 feet to get a free kill out of their lane.
edit: Although I'm not sure if I prefer that to the mids who roam around constantly trying to get kills when they aren't twitch, and then end up 2 levels below the enemy mid.

He's great, but you really have to be good at getting last hits all the time to really make the best use of his AP bonus. Not to mention he's freaking squishy as all hell.
Still him tho.

in this situation, you go for their blue, or just start with golems and blue pill back early, then go get it.
I really don't understand how people just can't comprehend the basics of this game. I picked it up after a few days, it is really fucking simple. I have a level 22 but I see all these higher level players doing stupid shit like going out on their own at low health and not being careful when you can see any heroes on the minimap. Oh and they get pissed when no one calls missing during mid game and all the heroes are missing...that does not need a call out that is the players fault.
You didn't learn from the last game you played with me?? people can't be arsed to travel 10 feet to get a free kill out of their lane.
It was more of the fact that only two members of our team understood English. On USA servers.
There's a lot of spanish speaking people in the USA so, don,t blame them for also wanting to play the game. Do you make any efforts to learn spanish, considering how widepsread it is in the states? Knowing 2 languages is pretty basic! Should at least be the par for languages known.
i mean, i have two quintessence spots- do more show up as i level
and do any more changes occur as i level
My advice is to stick to one or two champions that you enjoy the most and rune up for them rather than spending your IP on champions. Runes are super important and playing without them will gimp you. Once you have a solid set of runes and start getting more IP you can decide what champions to buy.

Knowing two languages is not pretty basic actually, and this is a really idiotic debate that does not belong in this thread.
Anyways the matchmaking in this game does seem pretty horrible since I constantly got put in with people from the states and europe in the same game even though I was in Korea. 300-400 pings are fun.

Gonna go ahead and say playing Ashe isn't very fun if you don't play with a big scary tank soaking some damage in the front lines. Tristana does a more admirable job of being able to get out of sticky situations, although if I were re-learning this game again I'd actually veer away from ranged carries (first time through I played as Sion, which I think actually helped me a lot regarding last hitting / proper stun timing / being a straight up mother fucker).
Edit: But if I were forced to choose a ranged guy while learning this game a-new, it would definitely be Twisted Fate. Played him for the first time in an inhouse (where ZenVulgarity took my anal virginity with zeal-stacking Poppy) and he is damned fun. Timing Pick a Card (which I failed horribly at - I think I popped Blue Card every god damn time) and going for cheesy ganks with his ult is just fantastic.
General advice for ranged characters? Stay behind your big tanks! Be as annoying as possible - poke at the enemy, harass them until they cry raging angry tears and file a lawsuit against your sexual predator ass, mop up (read: focus-fire their squishies while trying not to be noticed) after your big tank initiates. Oh, and last hit the minions, but don't auto-attack them.

TF outside of getting manhandled by Poppy is hella fun. Any squishy against Poppy is just frustrating and probably the least fun experience in the game.
Also, Jungle Tristana. Almost as scary as Jungle Twitch.

Playing Ashe is pretty fun if you have a good team that reacts instantly to your arrows and turns them into kills. It's no fun being on the butt end of an Ashe arrow while doing dragon, only to have half their team suddenly be punching your face in.
edit: It reminds me of Left 4 Dead 2. In fact, so much of LoL should be compared to L4D2. Warwick is a hunter, Alistar is a charger. Mordekaiser is a tank (don't start). Malzahar is definitely a spitter, or a smoker? Xin Zhao charges people. The pugs are your regular zombie fodder that you send in to die, like udyr.
So guys, im new around here, rakk twisted my arm into joining ^^. Added my name etc. to the Spreadsheet. Anyway, just a quick warning, if you get a game with Isaros, DODGE! He is a little kid, he died to Morde up top and then proceded to feed non stop. We would have had this team, but Yi just kept on giving them the gold, I know it caps @ 90g when you do that but still... was a 6v4 game thanks to the clone.
I would say playing Ashe is harder than any other ranged carry, I don't know why she's still "recommended". Like it's been said before, she far more of a utility carry than a "blow you up" carry like the rest of them are. I would say doing well with Ashe is a lot more satisfying to me than the others. You actually need to move strategically as you have no normal form of escape other than summoner spells.
On that note, Ashe is gonna get raped through the pants when/if they take out flash...

Yeah I always carry flash and either cleanse or ghost as Ashe. But against poppy it doesn't really matter.
Also I am still a little apprehensive about playing with PA people, I don't remember who it was but there was some silly goose who kept talking shit to me...and I was on his team. I think I missed two arrows as ashe and all he did was complain about how horrible I was as Ashe. I think I ended up with a positive KDR but I missed two arrows I was suppose to get (with a 300 ping, but this internet wizard said latency doesn't matter) and all he did was complain the whole game about how bad I was.
Easy solution to that is to solo queue every game.

Well if they are replacing it with shoes that flash it just means that's what she'll take now instead of the speed boots..
Ashe is "Recommended" because her skills are straightforward and she is not difficult to pick up and learn. This doesn't mean she doesn't have a high skill ceiling. It also accounts for why you see a lot of bad Ashes They play her in low Elo and have good results and climb the ranks but eventually get to the point where people know how to deal with her easily and get shut down.
At this point they can either continue to play Ashe and improve or now that they have a basic understanding of the game they can branch out to other champs.

I like Tanks but they are very dependent on the team, which always sucks. You charge in and your team watched you die, and then they decide to engage....gg.

tanks make up maybe 1/10 of the total champs.
The real answer is to force riot to make more tanks
Pretty much this. I like playing tough characters, but none of the true tanks really appeal to me outside maybe Rammus.
I tried Singed but hated his playstyle. Amumu was interesting but too many of the people I play with play him already. Same problem with Shen. Galio is meh. Rammus is interesting but I haven't had a chance to try him out and see if I'd like him.
I'd really like to see more interesting tanks.

Also I want to say that Sion/Morgana is an incredibly aggravating lane to face off against
I was Teemo with Shen and they got 4 kills off him with stun/root/soil, got me twice with it
I rushed Merc Treads then Guinsoo then Banshee's because of that, though I probably should have finished Veil before Rageblade, we won in the end

In extreme cases, "/ignore ally", and fuck the pain away.
My advice would be to stop playing Ashe.
I like Twitch, KogMaw, and Miss Fortune all way more than Ashe for ranged damage.
Twitch is high skill cap though.
Try Tristana, she's a bit more user friendly than Twitch, and personally, I think better than Ashe.
