Its bad enough I can't get Raul or Ed-E's quests completed, but being fucked on one of the most important quests in the whole freakin game?
So my choices are use my oldest (Level 22, I'm level 30 right now) save file and soldier on, or start all over from scratch. Ugh. I should have gotten this on PC so I could command this shit to work right.
So what I need is a good spot, reasonably close to the start of the game (I'd settle for somewhere in the bottom half of the map), where I can build or commandeer about six buildings and a little surrounding area for town miscellany (walls, a well, a minefield, etc). I don't mind replacing buildings or rubble already there, but I'd rather not cut down anything particularly interesting (and I DEFINITELY don't want to intersect any quests).
South of New Vegas is a large flat area. Also, North/NW there are a lot of abandoned farms and flat land. You could probably adapt that into a city. There is also the area of highway between Goodsprings and the NCR Mojave outpost with the huge statues. That is a nice stretch of open area. You can even build around some of the abandoned buildings.

ALso, Fuck wheel of fortune. The Searchlight quests need fixing, stat.
I'm enjoying my little mod that knocks people down on a crit when using a large caliber weapon like a shotgun or sniper rifle. Makes the game feel much more realistic, at the possible expense of some difficulty. Maybe not, though--it hasn't happened yet, but if the enemy scores a crit on me, I'm pretty sure that goes both ways.
Also, how would one go about making a new unique weapon? I take it you just modify an existing weapon and save it as something else? Or would that overwrite the original?
A quick question - the different levels of difficulty in FNV don't have any effect on experience gain, but in turn, what is their difference towards player vs enemy and enemy vs player damage? In Oblivion it was something like on Hard/Very Hard the player does 1/6th dmg to enemies, while enemies did 6x more damage to the player.
Anyone know the specifics of this in FNV?
Tooling around in the GECK a second, it's either a mulltiplier of 10 or 2 at max difficulty based on the strings that pop up with a search of "difficulty" so based on what I've observed myself I'd say it's .5/.75/1/1.5/2 damage dealt to you, inverted for enemies.
Cool, thanks for looking into it. Tried googling it before but didn't come up with anything specific to FNV.

You didn't do Vault 11 recently, did you?
Yes, yes I did. Why? What did that vault do me?!!!!
Some of the turrets are set to be of the Lucky 38 faction, so attacking them can screw up some quests and things. Did you see a "The House Always Wins FAILED" message when you completed the room?

There are numerous reports of a glitch where going in this room may cause either or both "The House Always Wins I" and "The House Always Wins II" quest to fail even if you have not started those quest yet. This occurs possibly because the turrets in this room are a member of the Lucky 38 faction. This is likely an oversight by the developers. Because of this, it is likely that the player must escape without destroying the turrets, either weathering the fire or using a stealth boy. On the PC, to fix the faction problem at the Lucky 38, open the console and enter this command: setally 1267AB 0001B2A4 - unfortunately, Mr. House still won't talk to you.
Is there a good place to stash my stuff near the beginning?
I'm playing on hardcore. I've just arrived at Primm and I am often encumbered.
Yes.
Lone Wolf Radio Station, I think it's called. It's just south of the starting area and off the path a bit. I've had both my characters use the footlocker as mass storage for most of the game without problems.
Is it a bad idea to just take a shotgun and blow the face off that legion guy you encounter? He told me to try and I did. The fight was brutal but possible but I got a "quest failed" in the processes so I didn't save. Have a save right before so I'd like to know if I mess up anything important by wiping them out?
I heard somewhere that Mr. New Vegas is actually supposed to be <<DEAD CHARACTER MENTIONED ABOVE>>. Is there somewhere that is "discovered" in-game? I mean, he seems to have survived that character's untimely demise is all.
I read somewhere that Mr New Vegas is an AI, but I have no sources for it whatsoever.

Only if you want to do legion quests. If not there are multiple cool dialogue changes, just in case you actually murdered his ass.

I just killed Vulpes, while I dont give a shit about Him or his quests, I'm thinking of going back to a save before talking to him. Caesars fucking assassination squads totally annihilate my lvl 9 guy with Combat Armor and Helmet :?
The Powder Gang and consequently killed a ton of NCR guys
So I got the ranger giving me the 3 day warning. By the time day 3 rolled around I think I was lvl 10 with 2 companions and not at all worried about a group of rangers handing me their armor on a silver platter.
She just kept saying "tomorrow is the day!" but never manned up.
Does anyone know a way to reset Corporal Sterling? It wouldn't be the end of the world if I couldn't, but I'd like to get Raul's armor upgraded and because of previously completed quests, Sterling simply says "We got your back" or something when I talk to him, and doesn't get into any real dialogue (which I need to trigger Raul).

Petrol station where Ringo was. Pretty sure you can use the crates for storage.
This is what I use as well. I'm about 15 hours in and I've had no issues. Plus it's right next to the doctors house, so it's convenient to visit after you've had your ass kicked.

My rangers gave me 3 days and then i slept for the third day and woke up with them leaving my asleep body never to return
Pretty much anywhere near goodsprings is fine because of easy bench/fire/doc access, you'll be happier if you keep the loading screens after fast travel at 1 or 0 which is why I hate

Yea, that squad is mean. I ended up running like hell and leaving a trail of mines behind me. They slowed them down enough that I could toss a stick of dynamite, then go into VATS and toss another (so both blow up at the same time... and so I wasn't stuck in one place too long). Even after all that, and a bunch of frag grenades, it took some lucky headshot crits to finish them off. It was totally worth it though, their gear is worth a lot.

I met them in Crescent Valley East just after I looted the Combat Armor from a chest, I was between the assassination squad on one side (6-7 guys?) and 5 Golden Geckos on the other side (2 big, 3 youngs) with nowhere to go o_O
at least this game is challenging and not the godmode that was Fallout3

Player house spoiler I guess?
Besides the actual room in Novac that you can permanently rent, and the suite in the Lucky 38 - the other player houses I've found so far are Victors house in Goodsprings and the BoS bunker they give you a key too (its just south of the Boomers).
Pretty much until I get to Novac, I just crash at Victors place and store all my stuff there. Has a bed, plus a sink you can drink from in Hardcore that isn't irradiated. And a radio! Too bad it keeps playing the same four fucking songs over and over.
If so, there is some on a dead prospector, along with his dead T-51b power armor wearing girlfriend. They're dead because they thought they could kill 16 Deathclaws and their 2 Mother Deathclaws. Man were they wrong.
Anyway, the location is really odd. Due East of Ranger Station Echo, across lake mead. Venture at your own risk.

That should probably be spoilered. Confirmed or not, it is a plot point of note, if it is accurate.
Before the game came out, I was guessing something similar, due to a preview suggesting that Mr. House had something to do with preventing Vegas from getting bombed to hell. That meant only two possible things:
1. He's an AI/computer/robot/cyborg/etc.
2. He's a ghoul.
Given the Securitrons, also announced before the game came out, 1 just made perfect sense. I don't know if either are true, but they make a good amount of sense.

Actually, if you kill that guy, you only fail his quest (cold cold heart) and no one cares. Caesar will comment on your strength for killing him, but otherwise nothing important
