I'm assuming the markers are specific to the character you're currently using... In which case looks like I've gotten three with Motonari (Decoy = win).
DWG 3 question. I'm trying to find that skill that ups your stats when you kill lots of enemies (per 100 kills, I think?). I've seen it referred to as Ace Pilot, but the closest-sounding skill I have now is Ace Killer, which is different. Was it named differently in the NA version? And how does one obtain it? I looked online and saw references to unlocking and beating the 20 MA Memorial Mission, which I've done, but I think the skill I got from that is One Man Army which just says you are more effective against crowds.
I'm also trying to unlock that story branch that requires 20 level 4 Friendships. Any tips on that? I think I'm pretty close, 18 last I counted. I was just going through all the Friendship Missions with the same pilot.
Lastly, what's a good level to use for farming XP?

Just picked up DWG3 the other day and having a blast with it.
Except for stages that force you to play Turn A make me want to cry.
From the screens shown so far, it looks like it's somewhat similar to RTKIX and XI. Which makes me fairly disappointed, since I loved how they alternated between the completely strategy ones and more RPG focused ones. I really would've liked to see them build off RTKX.
Ah well, hopefully they'll keep localising them for PC. And seeing as they've demonstrated playing it on a tablet, I think it'd be cool if they'd port it to the Vita.
Probably not gonna get it. While I liked DW7 overall, I just don't have that feeling of going back to it.
I blame no real 4th weapons.
Did you get past the Shu campaign? After getting into the Wu levels it seems like the entire (very long) Shu campgain was just a really long tutorial. The missions suddenly became interesting (more than just "SLAY EVERYTHING") and a fair bit harder.
Also they stopped setting every single goddamn battle at night. With the unfortunatly muddy-brown color palette of 7 the night levels just annoying.
My only problem with DW7 was how short the levels were in Conquest mode. 6 and 7 just didn't seem like DW games to me.
Gundam 3 was a bit like that too. I like my long battles; not all these 2-3 minute battles.

Platinum'd it also. Ironically, that might make me more willing to get XL, because I'll just import and that should immediately get a bunch of progress.
I pretty much just want to stab whoever thought it was a good idea to give Elemental Attack Up/Elemental Invulnerability (the two 840 SP cost skills) to so many people whom you don't play in Story mode with the SP pools.
I mean, you can technically get 80 SP in like two minutes. But still, that's ridiculously annoying.

I really hope you're working on friend points at the same time. That took the longest for me.
eh, it wasn't that bad. 1000'd it too. the thing about the skills you just needed to rotate your characters (and allies/etc) as you went through conquest mode. if you've done it lopsided I can see it getting to be a massive grind though.
the latest costume dlc looked pretty neat too. too bad koei's current release schedule being so lacking in xbox 360 products really soured me on the idea of supporting them further. Warriors Orochi 3 is pretty much the only one on the horizon at this point.

I've pretty much got bond handled. I think I've only got 5 or so officers that aren't at full bond with me, thanks to running a -lot- of missions over and over again with specific people in them (Fierce warriors of Shu/Wei/Wu, then the defense missions always seem to be "Wu vs. Jin" or "Shu vs. Wei" or so, so it's easy to focus what bond you get.), double-stacking Congeniality all day every day, and enjoying the sworn ally system.
I'm running Skill Points by doing Fierce Warriors of Shu (though it works with any of them, really, just need bond up with Ma Chao) and having a second controller hooked up with another character who needs skills. Two Skill Points Up seals on the weapons being used plus the Skill that does the same thing (always the first thing bought) means +16 points per general, five generals means 80 skill points (as above) for each character (For some reason, both players get skill points at the same time no matter who fights/defeats the general; I'm not complaining) and the level takes ~2 minutes to do (as above) depending on the weapons you use and how many of the speech windows you have to suffer.
And Platinum get. (I got it the other day, actually, but still) It worked out pretty easily. I ended up getting all the skills learned first which was a bit surprising, so then I switched to Gan Ning for funsies while I worked on getting the last few bonds up. I really just needed Shu and Other people, so, quite conveniently, one of the Defense battles (Tong Gate, towards the bottom center of the map, it's a blank token if you've cleared it already) is Shu vs. Other. (I'd been grinding on it for SP ever since I found it) With that, a couple reinforcements and the Sworn ally system, everyone just kinda fell in really quick. Got Consensus Builder in a town after talking to Jiang Wei, left, got Audio Collector, Meticulous Collector and the Plat right in a row.
I immediately quit, synched my trophies and tossed in Sengoku Basara: Samurai Heroes because I really just like beating up tons of dudes.
FotNS is great, once you learn to accept what it is and how differently it plays. I just wish they'd be a bit quicker or more even with the translations in battle. Also no You wa Shock! with full lyrics, just a really quiet remix that's very easy to miss.
I give it a fairly good shot at coming out here because it's a -main- entry, wheras Z was just the first two combined plus a few other things. I don't -like- that it didn't come around, but I get it. I mean, we've technically gotten the main entries lately (SW3 only barely counts, but on the other hand, 7XL) so I'd be more surprised if we didn't get it.
Slightly. I'm kind of letting hope instill false security here.
Am I the only one here who bought Xtreme Legends? Because I like it. I mean, it's definitely more an expansion than a stand-alone thing, but I've had quite some fun with it. The thing I hate is the whole Adjutant/Atmosphere system which seems to run on pure unadulterated RNG which is straight-up bullshit.

I sort of intend to, but my top backlog right now is:
optional second play through of King Arthur Wargame (just beat it last week on Rightful/Old Faith, was starting Tyrant/Christian)
continuing Deus Ex 3 (paused after the first big quest)
LA Noir
Fate/Extra
Portal 2
and still playing Dungeon Defenders and League of Legends
...so yeah, getting something that promises to be as long as Xtreme Legends isn't entirely high on the priority list
So if there's any fans of anime and the Warriors series in Europe, they may be happy to know that Namco Bandai's gone and registered the name 'Pirate Warriors' over there. Not a definite sign of translation but it looks hopeful that the One Piece Warriors game won't be a Japan-only title. Oh, and for those wanting to see what the gameplay might be like...

Man, I hope that's a subtitle if it does get released over there.
Expecting "One Piece: Pirate Warriors" probably wouldn't be too tall an order. Bamco/KOEI would want as much brand recognition in the name as possible, I'd figure.
Anyways, I got Ken's Rage -and- Dynasty Warriors Gundam 3 for Christmas, so I just have so many things to kill. Just been playing DWG3 so far, though, but I gotta ask: What the hell were they thinking with these maps? Yeah, I mean, I guess it 'fits' the Field-based theme they're going for, and with the first foray into Online Play for that series, things can't be over-complex, but they're garbage. I was pretty disappointed....then I unlocked Duo as a Pilot.

I've got it but I've got to platinum DW7 first and that's taking forever. I've got one seal left to learn, ~18 weapons to buy, ~40 levels left (almost all character ones, because the pay/fame are horrendously low) and then a ton of grinding (to get everyone's skills, everyone's bond maxed and then 1 million fame). Considering this was about where I was when I lost my save, I've spent SO f'n long playing this game it's not funny. I think I'll take a break before getting into XL.

Wait- so you can't repeat one stage over and over just to get the fugitive? Is there a way to tell what stages you've killed fugitives in?
I'm assuming the markers are specific to the character you're currently using... In which case looks like I've gotten three with Motonari (Decoy = win).
Still no new characters announced. Still, looks like there's going to be a ton of stuff to do.
First gameplay of One Piece game.

I'm not sure if I'll go in immediately. I may wait for a price drop or a slow month, unless Legend Mode is amazing or something.

oh well then yeah I could see not wanting to "get back into it" :P
But I'm -insane-, because I'm going to get the plat, Get XL, and likely get DW Next for Vita. I just really like DW games.

Has anybody actually played Quantum Theory? It seems like a KOEI Gears of War, but I dunno.
Musou Orochi 2 is due out soon in Japan. Hopefully it'll see a NA release, unlike Warriors Orochi Z, because holy fuck does it sound awesome.

I LOVE the Warriors Orochi series and this new one only sounds yet more amazing.
Plus, the cameo characters. Bladestorm was a great game, hopefully Joan of Arc is awesome in this one.

It'd be interesting to see if they'd release this outside of Japan too.
Let's Play Final Fantasy 'II' (Ch10 - 5/17/10)
