Is this still happening and if so what do I need to do to get myself and my girl into it? Just wondering cause the OP seems to have no real updates. But if someone could reply or PM me with the info I'd be very greatful!
Yeah, it's pretty much just show up and play. Alyce and I will be showing up at the Westin with all of our games in tow at around 5:00 PM, if anyone wants to be there earlier we can do that too.
If this is still happening Wednesday night, is there any way that I can crash someone's room for that night? (I'll pay my share, obviously). I'm staying at the Westin Thurs-Mon, but can't get an extra night for Wednesday night.
I stayed at the Sheraton for Prime last fall, and it was very cool passing through the lobby watching everybody play. I was too shy to hop in though, d'oh.
We'll be at the Westin for East, so I definitely want to try and pop by this time! I'll have Zombie Dice and a couple of Munchkin packs, and hubby may bring some Magic cards as well.
Hi this is my first time doing this and i just wanted to confirm the information. Starts at about 5pm wednesday and thursaday at the Westin and you don't need to register or anything like that.
Might as well say that me and a friend are bringing our magic decks, a regular deck of cards, and character sheets but we are both pretty interested in learning about some of the other games.
Definitely up for this again. As VThorn mentioned earlier in the thread, was really good last year to see the PA crew & others come through the lobby. @wilw came past as we were in the middle of a game of munchkin causing a new rule from @SJGames for the weekend.
Damn, just realised I forgot to bring my munchkin silver coin.
Oh well
Will bring :
Zombie Dice
The Good, The Bad & The Munchkin
Zombie Fluxx
Cthulu Dice.
Plus MtG Duel decks & planes
I would be down for this. My luggage space is limited, however I have these games I could bring one or two of:
Agricola,
Small World,
Acquire,
Pandemic and expansion,
Catan:Settlers of America,
Power Grid
So 5 pm at the Westin on Thurs? I can't be there on Weds. I can only bring one or two games, so if someone is interested in trying any of these in particular, just let me know!
Does any have (or has anyone tried) any of the Lego boardgames (minotaur, Harry Potter, etc)? I've been wanting to try one, but don't want to buy it to find out it's no good. If anyone has one and brings it along, I'd be interested in playing.
Not exactly a Lego board game, but Mechaton is a very simplified tabletop wargaming system that uses Lego robots. You can build them however you want, and it's strictly WYSIWYG. Rules are like $10 or something like that. Google it, it's fun!
My son has 3 of the Lego games - Harry Potter, the sheep one and a wizard one. We've only played each of them once. We're in the middle of moving - if they aren't packed I'll try to grab a few. I'm at the Seaport but I could always hit the Westin after the prepax dinner.

My friends and I played last year, we were part of the Munchkin group that @wilw stopped by and took a pic of, we are all interested in game night again this year. We're staying at the Renaissance
I am definitely game for gaming at the Westin on Thursday evening (though I won't arrive until about 9) and throughout the weekend. Still trying to figure out what to bring... I'm thinking my games crate will look like this:
Lighter games (will probably bring several of these):
Pit, No Thanks!, Halli Galli, Biblios, Pickomino, Money, High Society, For Sale, Incan Gold, Jungle Speed, Saboteur, Mr Jack Pocket, Gloom, Dixit, Slide 5, Werewolf, The Resistance, Castle of the Devil
Heavier Games (probably will bring 3-4 of these):
Summoner Wars, Revolution, Through The Desert, Mansions of Madness, 7 Wonders, Stone Age, Cargo Noir, London, Conquest of Planet Earth, Kingsburg, Rattus

Catan and Pandemic YAY.
Agricola makes baby seals CRY. do not bring it.
Agricola is my fav
I do understand though. It is not conducive to easy learning. I always tell people they need to play an entire game through (which can take up to two and a half hours to complete) to understand.
1. How late does this run? I'd very much like to participate, but I wouldn't be there until midnight or so...
2. Anyone want to play Morton's list? It's... well, it gets interesting. (I would be willing to-and usually do- keep it pg-13 though)
3. My fiance and I do not have a hotel room booked for Sunday night (they were sold out somehow), but our plane doesn't leave until 6am Monday. Is anyone interested in more gaming Sunday night, to keep us from going crazy/sleeping on airport benches?
Any chance we can get an updated post at the beginning compiling some of this information? Also, I'm very excited, but be warned I know just about none of the games we're talking about. Still very excited though. :-)
I'll bring some small card games, but certainly not Arkham Horror, as that is far too big to bring all the way from the UK.
Oh and if I see some people 'playing' Agricola, I may do something involving a match and some lighter fuel. For I share the opinion of that 'game' with MeleMeles, it indeed make baby seals cry.

Haters gonna hate.
I'll be the guy playing solo Agricola in the corner crying.

Your wrongness makes kittens and fairies and the cute bunnies jump into threshing machines. I lose Acricola generally, but it is a game made of win, it's just a little unforgiving. And there's no dice to save you if you're bad at it and lucky.
I've decided that as well as bringing my Magic Cards (with extras to spare for teaching or lending)
i'm going to be bringing a complete 4th edition campaign with me. I'll set up pre-con characters beforehand and have everything ready. as it stands i've got enough content laid out for levels 1-8, so having something to screw around with for an evening will be far from a problem.
i'll try and bring along some of my miniatures but i'm not sure how much space i'll have, might ahve to be ripped bits of paper on a piece of graph paper, like grandpa used to use.

Would love to get in on this! I got the 4e books for Christmas, and have been looking to get into a campaign to give me at least some small idea of what's going on (last D&D I played was Advanced D&D)

I would be down as well, though I don't know if I'd be able to play all night. I'm going to be partaking in the Pokecrawl so that only really leaves from 5 to 7 for me (though I should be getting to the hotel by 2pm, so if anyone wants to play some D&D beforehand let me know.) I'll be bringing dice and depending on how much room I have in my bag I'm either bringing a couple of minis or plenty.

For real. I love the game in that it involves absolutely no luck. I won't be bringing it, but it is by far my favorite game.
I reallly really look forward to Mansions of Madness though.
How late do you people think this will be going on for? My plane doesn't land until midnight on Thursday but I would love to join some people for a little late night gaming.
I'm down for going late, as far as who's playing i will happily kill you off and allow someone else to drop in.
The basic setup for the storyline is a drop in from another realm, anyone interested in playing feel free to make a 4e character beforehand, create yourself with 500g worth of items and a backstory worth telling. be ready to fight in very non traditional ways; i take some of my creative qeues and idea from our great leaders insanely amazing out of the box game types
at least i like to think so. I'll be running it similar to the tower of gygax at gencon, someone wants to leave or dies, someone else will have the opportunity to jump in.
I'll also be bringing Thurn and Taxis, too, what the heck. I don't need to pack clothes in my suitcase or anything. XD
it's a game about the German Postal system, which i know sounds absolutely RIVETING, but seriously, it's got awesome mechanics and is a super fun route-building game.
Sometimes I feel like I am the only one who really dislikes Munchkin and Fluxx.
OOH, do we have any Werewolves or The Great Dalmuti fans?

I love Thurn and Taxis! Great game!
I decided that I would bring the games that I could fit into this wheeled plastic crate to PAX. Turns out that you can fit a lot of games into a little crate, especially if you put games inside the empty space of other game boxes...
Into this storage crate, I've fit the following:
7 Wonders
Castle of the Devil
Citadels
Coloretto
Dixit
For Sale
Founding Fathers
Glen More
Gloom
Halli Galli
Hansa
High Society
Incan Gold
Jungle Speed
Mansions of Madness
Money
Mr Jack Pocket
No Thanks!
Pickomino
Pit
Rattus
Revolution
Saboteur
Slide 5
Stone Age
Summoner Wars
The Resistance
Ultimate Werewolf
Zombie Dice
I might swap a few of these out, especially if the order that I'm expecting this week shows up, but that looks roughly like what I'll bring along.
Plenty of gaming fun to be had, I am sure. Look for my crate and hit me up, I guess. :winky:
I will be around on Thursday not in the normal gaming area at the Westin. I will be attending a gathering of MIBs who will be learning the ins and outs of none other than: Zombie Munchkin, which will be making its debut at the convention.
And please, please, keep all arms and legs inside the vehicle at all times. We've had too many complaints of people being hit with falling arms and legs as it is. ;-)
So far I have packed:
D&D Essentials Rules Compendium
Fiasco (only recently acquired, haven't played yet myself. anyone here done so?)
Mad Scientist University
Munchkin + Need for Steed
Small World (via iPad)
Should I bring Pandemic?
This also makes me wish I had bought more of my Shadowrun books as book+PDF bundles. I don't feel like dragging several large books with me (especially as my SR4 and SR20th core books are both limited edition hardcovers). It doesn't feel quite "right" to flick through digital pages on my iPad (although it does fit the setting), but it is much more convenient.
flatline on
East 2014 Status: Badge [ Friend got it ] Hotel [Crappy] BYOC [YES] Transport [ ] Name on Forum Badge [ ] Challenge Coin [ ]
So as i will be setting up pax when i am done over there and finished eating i will be joining you all. If someone has a floor i could crash on wendsday night that would be awsome as have been unable to arrange anything close by so far. if not you can find me in the lobby till i can check in and get a small nap on Thursday.

Mansions of Madness, Do You Worship Cthulhu? (It's like Werewolves), Mow, Zombie Dice, Paranoia Mandatory Bonus Fun Card Game, GOSU, and Crows
If there is sufficient interest/room to do so, we can migrate to other hotels.

I think the current plan is for everyone to be at the Westin Waterfront, so come on over!!
This will be at the Westin Waterfront, in the lobby area, from 5 PM till LATE on Wednesday and Thursday Night!!
Edit: On Thursday.
*waves hand* These aren't the typos you're looking for.

Also, I can count to "boat".
