Amazing unit composition and timing by Tyler. Or from a simpler perspective, Tyler made TT pay for expanding AND teching at the same time without any aggression and limited scouting. At this level I'm surprised we saw a risky play by TT given it was already 1-1.
I think nerves had something to do with that. But he can still make it into the finals.
Tyler agrees with those rules though. He gives his opinion on them in one of the State of the Game podcasts. Basically, in BW Tasteless beat Tyler in the championship 3-2. However, they met previously and Tyler won 3-0. Tyler's overall record vs tasteless in that tournament was 5-3, yet Tasteless was declared the champion.
This is why the rule is implemented. It doesn't make sense for the Champion to have a losing record vs the runner-up. I can understand why, and Tyler agrees with it as well (at least at the podcast time).

the rule was actually implemented because they dragged the rules over from halo
either way
i think a standard double elimination ruleset is more intuitive than this and the confusion the extended series rule brings along with it isnt worth the "validation" factor it may or may not have

I don't know how I feel about consuming a product that can kill me should I accidentally poke myself in the neck with it.

Yeah, and the camera is pointing towards Tyler and his computer :P
Edit: Oh, and it seems he lost the first one, so it's 3-2 right now.
