And without them the only time I can race online is when I get a group together to race. Doesn't seem bad, but it turns out the only time to really race are pre-designated race days.
With pub lobbies I would get online, setup a lobby, send invites to my friends and wait for pubs to enter. They either like the settings I do or I boot them, and they either race the way I like or I boot them (not being a jackass, no leaderboard cars, etc). This means that every once in a while you'll have a bad race, but eventually there will be a group of pubs you recognize as good racers that you may even add to your friend's list. I know that's how online worked for me in Forza 2 and it certainly works the opposite in Forza 3.
Arctic, I haven't had a chance to try my cars out on this week's tracks, you should pick which ever one your C class car is best on since I usually end up last in mine...

Appreciate the offer, but I haven't run jack squat either. My charger is likely to do terrible on either of these tracks, so I'll figure out tonight or tomorrow which of the two I'd rather run my viper on and we can go from there. =_=
Trying not to read to much into the teaser since none of it is in-game footage. I am hoping it is a taste of things to come though because it means some very exciting things. It's a given though that Forza 4 will be amazing either way.
What was the big problem with the release of Forza 3 again? I've totally forgotten.
Also, having used the Kinect 'walk around and have a look' feature to check out some purdy trophies in Kinectimals, I can honestly say I would certainly make use of it in Forza 4 if it looks even remotely like anything in those shots.
The garage sections of PGR3 blew my mind when the 360 came out, spent hours in there checking out 'the shiny'.
That's going to involve a lot of bumping on the rails, I have no doubt (though that's true for a lot of people anyway), but hey, it's work in progress.
And that walking option around the car? Gorgeous.

Acid, you up for C on Mugello? I've got my Maranello up to 610 HP for the track.
So can I be the first one to point out how utterly and completely stupid it is to use kinect to pretend you're steering on a racing game, when there already exists a peripheral that is not only cheaper but simulates driving a car pretty much to the maximal extent possible?
Its pretty much:
Option 1: Spend 100 dollars for an xbox 360 wheel with paddle shifters and pedals and have pretty much the same control system as in a real car, with precise controls, force feedback, etc.
Option 2: Spend 150 dollars on a kinect and haphazardly attempt to steer your car while flailing around with your arms like a retarded chimpanze.

Basically. A physical control method will always be superior. I did like the demo they showed of them walking around the car, though, but I do not want to race with Kinect controls. It's imprecise, among other reasons. I was hoping for head tracking but I guess they're going with "flail your arms about and let the game accelerate and brake for you" route instead.

Agreed. Hoping to control cars the traditional route and use Kinet for the shoowrooms, not sold on using Kinect to steer at all.

I'm too lazy to point that stuff out, but good luck trying to find a 360 wheel that will be $100, they don't make'em any more from what I remember.
Although nothing too bad about flailing your arms like spaz while attempting to poke your eyes out in front of a group of people laughing hysterically with....I mean at you.

About time, Bast, but it's not the same. You really should show it from my 1st-person view, as I actually had a pretty good vantage of what was going on.
Also, to everyone else, what actually made this hilarious was the piercing scream of "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" that he let out as this entire event unfolded. We love you, Bast.
Prolly, since the majority of people wanted smoke and dust, they may not put it in...

I could give less of a damn about frilly things like smoke and dust and other such particle effects. Just give me a physics engine where my 250 horsepower car with 300mm wide slicks can actually launch worth anything resembling a damn without AWD.
Finally got my 360 online last night, and popped on some public lobbies. What a ridiculous experience - completely unlimited cars, so two guys turned up with X-Class Pugs. Both of them pull away faster than everyone else, crash at the first corner, leaving me to drive through and win with a best lap 8 seconds faster than either of them. Being able to drive > having a quicker car.
Speaking of getting my XBox online, might try to join you guys tonight (finally!). My Live handle is Steve Kinsen, if you guys want to add me. Finally a chance to race my Challenger!

there I knew you'd doctor that up to make it look like my fault.
but here it is, you share the liability in that for intentionally going 3 wide into that turn, in my blind spot, while we're in vehicles where it's a miracle when you don't torque oversteer, while I'm trying to not hit the guy who is already in the outside.
with clowns to the left of me, and jokers to the right, there I was, stuck in the middle with you.

also, this will be my reason that I may not be able to race tonight:
I've got a project that I need to finish up and hand in tomorrow at around 3:00pm EST, got the arms legs and torso to finish up on.
