It's been a long time I played Forza, but I'm getting back into it. I've gotta say, getting Forza 4 and a '08 STi the same week I actually bought an '08 STi is probably the best thing in the world. Keeping the crazy driving in-game is probably saving me a lot of tire wear & a ticket.
This should have spawned a mini-game where we get out of our cars and then proceed to beat the shit out of each other in the infield '79 Daytona style.
People need to stop the FWD hate. It's completely valid up to B-class. In lower classes even, most cars that ARE FWD will perform better if you leave the drivetrain alone.
SEAT for life!
... I'm still trying to figure out why it's called Front Wheel Drive instead of Wrong Wheel Drive.

FWD is just RWD, rear engine, but with the wrong wheels doing the steering.
So it appears to be official that my router will not allow the online-Forzaing no matter what I do. A new one is not in the cards at the moment, so *sadface*.
In my frustration last night, I decided to try out some new cars. First up, the '13 Focus from the DLC pack. Funny thing, it can be upgraded to the top of the R3 class. DO NOT DO THIS. While it may make a fantastic noise and be entertaining to launch past an entire grid of real race cars off the line, that car is not meant to go that fast. Anything approaching a 90 degree turn might as well be called a wall in that car, as that is where you will end up.
Now, I cranked it down to S, and it's better, but has horrible understeer. It's actually my third car with this problem (along with one of my Jags and my Bentley). I know how to fix oversteer, but have not tackled understeer yet. Any advice on where to start to make these cars actually turn without coming to a full stop from the tuning crowd?

Does your router have a DMZ option? I've had luck in the past with cranky routers by putting my xbox in the DMZ. This should allow you to bypass all NAT or firewall related shenanigans.
Turn 10 really needs to be smacked around for the way they designed that stretch on Camino Viejo. Those walls are angled perfectly to launch cars back into traffic. While this does initiate a lot of hilarity, it guarantees a huge clusterfuck every time that track shows up in multiplayer.
There is zero runoff, the track is super narrow, and if you put a tire in the grass, you're gonna get sucked into the wall. If you try to correct, you'll swerve back into traffic. If you don't try to correct, you'll tap the wall and get thrown into traffic. Either way.. someone is gonna have their race ended.
I recommend running the track in reverse, as it allows cars to spread out a little more before dealing with that section. Plus it's uphill, so people aren't moving as fast. Significantly improves the odds of a clean race.

so much, Keml0. Ha ha.
It should be noted, in the first video, my pit of Bast was entirely intentional. Still, for all that occurs in that video, it's impressive that I kept things as straight as I did.

It does, I've already set Xbox in the DMZ, no effect. Basically if I've read it suggested online, I have tried it to no effect.
EDIT: Now that I say that, I find three more guides online that contradict the guides I already used, so more fiddling will take place.
I hate consumer routers so much. The software in them is total shit, and causes all kinds of wacky issues with gaming. The most painful part is, if you want a device that's actually decent, it bumps you up into business pricing which means you're paying hundreds (or thousands) of dollars just so you can race cars online. :v:
It is interesting seeing the camaro crash from a point of view other than the doomed camaro =0 I was too terrified to notice how everyone skillfully avoided me but arctic

Not that I remember all of this with crystal clarity now, but I recall from my POV, it looked like you guys were 3 wide. It was only as I got closer I realized you were stationary and the wrong direction. There was little I could do by that point.

I am in no place to critique others driving since, you know, iw as the one facing the wrong way The sad thing is no one even touched me to cause that, i had accidently turned off abs and traction control without noticing and..welp..thats what happens when you think you have them and you don't =0
I was like sweet got two of 'em now, today found one sitting in my inbox, reaction this time was "I really hope they didn't make a mistake"
Guess i'll make one a autocross version, a drift (cause I can), and a racing/grip tune, if I do get a fourth one(seeing the way it is going) I really don't know what to do with it.....

The IS300 is either late 90s or 2000 exactly. I can't speak for the Camaro. Someone talked about trying to make one but couldn't get the weight low enough. Frankly, I didn't care what people were running last night. Those who practiced practiced. I was happy to just have people race what they wanted as long as it was on par with the competition. ^_^

To be exact, it's 2003. :P
And I suppose a practice race is a practice race. The Camaro's got no chance of anyone even mistaking it for legal though, at least for this week's race. :rotate:

Preach it! I see the most violent, horrible crashes that wreck half the field on that downhill, and it happens consistently. At some point it's the track. Knuckleheads don't crash that often.
I wonder if there's any extra hilarity to be had from custom races with the grip percentage set really low, like 10%. Or multi-class with a set of class F cars and a set of class S cars with grip set to 30%.

Anyone on that can toss me an invite to the club if it isn't full? GT is Wulf
Back to Forza after a only playing for a few hours on release.
God the AI can be frustrating as hell sometimes, seems like if you get in the way of their racing line your car loses all it's weight and can be shoved aside with no effort.

They have a knack of knowing just where to tap to PIT you and use it vigorously. That's why you do it first. Remember, in AI races, they are all the enemy and working together to destroy you. Take appropriate actions to prevent them from getting the chance.
Also, with Rewind, sometimes you just have to replay a corner over and over again, ramming into the most annoying driver/M.Rossi at top speed each time while screaming "DIE! DIE! DIE!". Over and over and over and over again... Everyone does that sometimes, right?
Veevee talked about A Great Purgitation in the near future to leave the club open for people who actually use the club for racing with other club members. Hopefully they'll do that soon.

The difficulty ratchets up in later career seasons supposedly, but all I notice is that the AI becomes bigger dicks. God help you for being anywhere near one who wants to take the same corner as you. It's like you're not even there - I'm losing interest in career mode because it boils down to getting the fuck away from AI and then doing leaderboard laps the rest of the race.
I don't know who the club boss or however it works is, but honestly 50% or so of the club seems to be inactive now and could probably be safely kicked to make room

Yeah, well I'll bring all the Delorean you can handle. And then slap a supercharger on it ;D

Just to please all the haters, I'm now running a 2000 Prelude, left FWD. It won't be as fast as the IS300, but it's still a fine competitor.

while we're just joking around and not entirely serious or anything but for some reason I felt this image macro is appropriate:

Almost sad I missed out on all the fun by being up front, almost.
