Alright, so my NAT is terrible it seems. Basticle has a few open spots in his lobby - i'd jump in his race before considering mine. Sorry guys.
What level of NAT (open, moderate, high [strong?])? If it's not open, google your router's model and how to open the NAT.

Yep. I made a couple boneheaded moves.....but I also had some boneheaded things done to me (I almost had 1st on reverse Tsukuba!), so I feel like it was a wash. :P
Lots of fun and I pick up like 4 - 6 driver levels every time I race with you guys!

Mwah-ha ... FWD Prelude proves to be a great car ... Fear the front runner. ;P
But seriously, good fun. Sorry about getting dazed near the end there and doing more harm than good on Kaido. Vedic, it was always hilarious being around you since we were polar opposites in design. I adored that.
I'll make a couple videos in the morning.
Inspired by the Italian racing series "Superstars Series" the rules are simple:
Your car must be have 4 doors, and a V8. A600. no drivetrain swaps
qualifying cars:
2004 Audi S4
2003 Audi RS 6
2006 Audi RS 4
2003 BMW M5

Bernese Alps - Festival Circuit - 5 laps
Mugello - Club Circuit - 6 laps
Circuit de Catalunya - Grand Prix Circuit - 5 laps
Le Mans Circuit de la Sarthe - Full Circuit - 2 laps
Road Atlanta - Full Circuit - 6 laps
I'm building my car now since I have jury duty all next week (fuck my life)
Ew.
All of these cars are completely unappealing. I think I'll be skipping this week too.
First time racing with you guys, had tons of fun . Sorry for the skipping around on the track, will be investing in a better internet connection in the near future!
Man, I wish I had a bad internet connection to blame for the horrible things I did to people.
Pretty sure I owe a couple people an apology... and that one cement barrier.
Going to practice some for next time mmmmaybe. That was fun though, thank you for having me (once I unrestricted my Live settings so I could actually hear people).
1. Bear is Driving on the 'ring. We ALL saw you beeline to that pit wall after the first straight. I'm pretty sure there was a synchronized, "Dude heading dead straight for the concrete divider. Dude will definitely steer clear. Dude is not turning...holyshitnononoooooo"
2. Using my advanced driver psychology skills to keep out of Arctic's line and both of us doing exactly the wrong thing over and over in almost every race.
Edit: Oh and I totally fucked over SiliconStew on the last lap of Laguna Seca, sorry bro. I blame the VTECs.

I saved the 'ring replay just because I wanted to see Bear is Driving murder himself on the pit wall. That's some high quality crashing.
Also man, my poor 190E being spun by Arctic in that video and then getting utterly decimated by whoever that was. Sadface!
ArcticLancerBest served chilled.Registered Userregular
That video does not nearly do the justice to how retarded it was that I started that. Seriously. I just kind of look straight at a wall and think, "This kind of reminds me of those deathtraps on Camino ..." And then I unintentionally decided, in my hazy, hazy state of mind, to not steer away from it.
What did we discover?
It really WAS like the deathtrap on Camino. ^_^
I don't think I have the replay, but someone who does should do an outside-the-car perspective following me starting that.
Hey that was me (white car, red 27) in the rear view there getting spun into the wall before either pile up which, funny enough, saved me and let me get through with zero engine damage.
Fun times last night and it looks like my network issues are (for the moment) corrected, so yay!
Oh, and Nova, that was me that took you out on reverse Kaido. Sorry about that. I was sure you had lost it on that corner and were going into the wall so I made my move and cut on the inside. By the time I realized you had saved it at the last moment and were coming back to the line it was too late, I slammed the brakes but all that served to do was stick my nose right in the wrong spot on contact and PIT you. It's a shame it ended up like that since we were dueling that entire race and I was sure I was going to make a legitimate pass at some turn to get in front. Though, as you said, it all balances out, as I'm the one you Draft checked into the wall on Sunset.
Also, one of my favorite moments was following behind Bast on Infinion, listening to him complain about running a different version of the track earlier and it screwing him up (as did I). We come to a part that is a straight in the Nascar version as, in my mind I go "Oh, there's a tight S here in the full circuit. Huh. Wait, Bast, there's a S here. Bast no. No! Oh god!" as I see the brake lights on two cars in front of him come on yet nothing from his brakes and he plows full speed through those poor other drivers.
Now, to find a car for next week that I can actually control (like my FTO, which I should have been running all night instead of just at the end). BMWs are already out on that regard, Mercs aren't much better, maybe I can hammer the Jag into some semblance of "Stop Kicking Your Tail Out".
Alright, so my NAT is terrible it seems. Basticle has a few open spots in his lobby - i'd jump in his race before considering mine. Sorry guys.
What level of NAT (open, moderate, high [strong?])? If it's not open, google your router's model and how to open the NAT.
It's actually set to Moderate. I've had some issues with MW3 as well, so I guess it's time to open some ports. I'll have to RTFM on my FiOS router it seems.
If you search "Xbox Live NAT <your router name here>" you'll probably find many, many guides. If it's anything like my experience, half of them will contradict the other half, but eventually you should be able to find some solution that works.

Easiest thing to do, honestly, is enable UPnP on your router. That usually solves the issue as UPnP will handle all the Port Forwarding for you, assuming, of course, your router does UPnP correctly (my old one didn't).
If your router has UPnP but it still isn't working right, you can install DD-WRT firmware on your router. This is not for the faint of heart and if you're leasing/renting your router instead of outright owning it, DO NOT do it. DD-WRT is extremely powerful and does a lot of stuff well, but you run the risk of completely bricking your router, so beware. I installed it on my Linksys E3000, but I a) was confident in what I was doing and b) was prepared to buy a new router if I fucked it up. If you decide to go this route read all of the instructions for installing DD-WRT on your model of router before you even attempt it and read up on the associated forums for any gotchas or tips.
Past that, your next option is to see if you can set a static address for your Xbox (either manually or via DHCP on the router), then enable port forwarding on the router, sending the following ports to the Xbox's static address:
udp/3074
tcp/3074
Optionally, you'll want to forward udp/1863 and tcp/1863 if you use video chat with Kinect. The port forwarding is basically what UPnP is doing for you. Xbox Live makes use of some additional common service ports, namely udp/88 (Kerberos), udp and tcp/53 (DNS) and tcp/80 (HTTP) but you shouldn't need to forward those as your router will generally allow that common traffic to all hosts by default. If you forward 3074 (Xbox Live) and 1873 (Video Kinect) and are still having problems, check your router's firewall (if one exists) and make sure these common service ports are allowed in, or forward the additional common ports to your Xbox. Note that forwarding those ports exclusively to your Xbox may cause other problems on your network.
Finally, if all of that fails, you can try throwing your Xbox into the DMZ on the router, but that's usually a last resort and not the best option.
I would argue throwing your 360 in the dmz is the best option, and much less extreme than dd-wrting, as long as you're not already using your DMZ for something else (i.e i keep my main computer in the dmz at all times)
The thought of having a Windows machine in the DMZ terrifies me. These days I'd even be nervous putting a UNIX based system in reach of the world.
Did you set the hostname to "HACKERS WELCOME HERE"?
eh, I work as a network admin so i'm pretty confident in what i'm doing, as long as you keep your system updated and run a software firewall you *can* fully configure unlike terrible home routers built in junk the chance of anyone going through the effort to compromise your system are so miniscule you'd probably have a higher chance of a cow getting picked up by a tornado and dropped on your head. Could someone get in? probably, is someone going to spend weeks trying to get in unless you have super secret critical government documents concerning plans to assassinate the president? probably not.
Hey so what's the consensus on the "wireless speed wheel"?
I just played the demo at best buy with it and it seems like it locks out the turning range more than using a regular controller?
It kinda does but imo it also gives you quite a bit more finely tuned control taking turns at slight increments etc. It's nowhere near as good as a real wheel but i do better with it than a controller
Oh, and Nova, that was me that took you out on reverse Kaido. Sorry about that. I was sure you had lost it on that corner and were going into the wall so I made my move and cut on the inside. Hahaha! Man I felt really bad after that. There were a couple times where I felt like I didn't upgrade the brakes enough, but it was more like I was locking up the tires because I'm an idiot. In fact, that's been the one thing that's improved my racing the most over the last two weeks - learning how to brake.
Although sometimes my aggressive driving gets the better of me. >.>

Unfortunately, I have a FiOS router, it's a package deal. And of course, I don't remember the password to get in, but that's easily fixable. I think most of the standard ports are there, DNS, HTTP, all the TCP/UDP ports. The XBOX ones though, I'm not so sure about, and won't until I reset the damn thing and get inside of it.
Edit: Oh and I totally fucked over SiliconStew on the last lap of Laguna Seca, sorry bro. I blame the VTECs.
I don't know who your dancing partner was, but it wasn't me. I was driving the red E30. I was way out in front the whole way after the first turn on Leguna
SiliconStew on

I had no idea that THAT'S what happened to Keml0. Geez ... Yet again, I must apologize to my better half ...
Also, for how lightly we collided that sure sent us both flying. Hyperphysics, go!
What's funny is wasn't that also the race that the first corner the entire front of the pack managed to go 6 or 7 wide without a collision, or am I thinking of another race?

That was definitely when we did Sunset reverse.
If I recall, only 1 person made it out of that corner on Sedona without being involved in an accident of some kind.
[Edit]
By the way, the Prelude I shared on the garage was my car from Thursday, if anyone wants to try it out. I think I might just swap it out every week to keep current
The 2003 M5 is totally bonkers. Infinite power, infinite weight, no braking or turning. Sounds perfect!
Though, is the Holden any fun? I haven't played with any of their non-GT cars in F4.

I love that HSV. Presently, the one the game gave me is easier to handle than this IS F, but I'm forcing myself to break out. Even if not for this event, I strongly suggest you try the HSV sometime. It's very little like its insane Aussie brothers.

that shouldnt be too hard. I test drove the XFR and while I understand it was stock steering, I've never before driven a RWD car in Forza that understeered so goddamn much.

Oh. Well.
Maybe Ratling then? It was someone who doesn't talk much (i.e. Not Arctic :P)
As far as I'm concerned, it's the best car out of the bunch. Handles amazingly well considering its size, and has a hint of craziness. I've got two upgrades done, one handling centric and the other steered towards HP, and they are both fun. I'm likely to lean on the handling setup, as the Holden can be a little squirrley.
In other news, the 2012 Dodge Charger is a heap. Terribly boring car to drive, and doesn't even sound that good.
