COLLEGE HOOPS
The sport of dancing, fans chanting horrible things at kids in opposing jerseys, and the sweet sweet art of making children cry.

Tonight the frequently meaningless regular season starts, and we start the slow process of eliminating aproximatley 10 teams from contention for the NCAA tournament so the remaining 300 can play in a single elimination tournament that comprises one of the greatest sporting events known to man.
Here are our preseason polls:

But take heart my friends, for the following will always be true.

god I wish
actually lostwords claims he went to highschool with that guy
i'm not optimistic about their chances, with a new coach and a new system, but at least the program seems to be headed in a better direction after it stagnated under skinner for a few years
they play in the old spice classic starting on thanksgiving, open with a&m and play wisconsin if they win
the recruiting class is great, even if our best guy won't play for some indefinite period of time
but there's also this guy

I was sort of not sure what to expect from Maryland coming into this season, given that we just graduated the best class we've had since the Dixon/Blake/Baxter team that won the 2002 championship.
Vasquez (my favorite Terp ever), Hayes, and Milbourne are all gone. But Jordan Williams is going to be one of the best bigs in the country, not just the ACC, the country and we have a couple of freshman points, one of which has the amazing name of Pe'Shon Howard who I already feel is going to a stud.
the way he raises up to the rim looks like he is wire fighting. that is insane
i watched the grizzlies-celtics game the other night and vazquez got his first serious playing time of the year and looked pretty good off the bench
i think he has the potential to be a decent backup point guard, he brings a lot of energy off the bench
I am torn that my boy Stevie Blake has a great shot to be a key part of an NBA championship team this year. Except it's the fucking Lakers, bluh.
although the big ten is going to be a fucking madhouse this year
i noticed at halftime bilas didn't mention them as a potential tournament team, but i'm curious as bc plays them in the acc-big 10 challenge
My only interest is that I work in a bar near the UW and boy has it been quiet in here on Saturdays...
What do you jerks have?
Indiana won't be as bad as last year, but they definitely won't be any good
well that's good for this year
but i do hope they can get back to national relevance as i really like tom crean
you know those cupcake games you schedule at home to start the year? Iowa keeps losing those games
and now UConn too, actually any team on the east coast that espn talks up. Go zags! Also Wisconsin and Minnesota, someday.
God, I love this image.
Fear the turtle, you rotten bastards
WE GOT IT THIS YEAR, GUYS!

Yay. Roll Tide. U-S-A Numba One!
Cloudman, my Terrapin brother
last season was a fun ride, I think this one can be too.
Believe with me Cloudman
believe
He led a shitty basketball team to win a championship a lot of people thought he didn't deserve.
Therefore, he is hated and despised by anybody who does not go to Duke.
What? No
Everyone hates Coach K because he always has been, and always will be a megadouche.
Oh.
Well, that probably doesn't hurt either.
EDIT: I keep Googling him, it just links back to his webpage, and the only quotes there are your conventional cookie-cutter motivational BS.
