So I finally finished setting the sofa up. Took all day and involved bringing it up to the attic. Alone. Then getting rid of another bed. A KING SIZE MOFO. Then putting the other bed into the spare attic. And in the end I get the cold shoulder from some family members because I moved their stuff in the spare attic. I swear to god I'm gonna explode.
So yeah, no pictures today because i'm still trembling I'm so fucking pissed.
I got some food and felt much better so I went ahead and posted a pic on my shitty phone.
I need to sort it out good and proper but that's it, sitting right there. Ready for my ass to drop down.
What the hell? You are shipping my game to UPS then through them they are shipping it via USPS?
COME ON!!!
Welp, they lost my game in the mail.
They are returning my money at least but NEVER EVER order from them.
Newegg doesn't usually screw up like this and most of us with pcs get our parts from them.
They're real bad with preorders though. I preordered two games and both times "We ran out of stock! Even though you preordered as soon as it was available! Your money will be back in 3-4 business days!" So I don't preorder from them any more.
I've spent an absurd amount of money at Newegg over the years, they're fine, though as you learned the Egg Saver shipping is a little depressing. I've never lost anything through it, though.
I hate UPS. I don't know if it's just the guys who work locally, but you'll be sitting on the front step, a UPS van will drive up to the house, sit in the street for 60 seconds, and then drive away.
Then check your tracking info, and it will say they delivered it.
Fuckers.

Wait, wait, UPS or USPS lost your game. You can't really blame NewEgg for losing your game...
I can blame them for:
1. Not telling me the first time I contacted them the package was lost.
2. Taking something simple like shipping via one carrier and making two companies handle my package.
3, Being rude to me and me having to ASK for a refund.

For better or worse, it is spelled out somewhere that the Egg Saver shipping is a UPS to USPS type of thing. They do offer normal shipping as well.
Not a huge loss to avoid them in the future unless you need PC parts, though, I guess.

I've had no problems at all with NewEgg. I've never ordered games, but all my computer parts come from there.

It sounds odd that it would stay that long and not just do the delivery instead, but if they were cutting corners they would probably just pass the area, then use their DIAD (the signature machine) and say "Not in"
it has to have been in the area, since it has a GPS system which will be referred to in case of a complaint.
Edit: If they really wrote "Delivered" you have to fill out the signature space yourself, and thats fraud - and an instant removal from UPS.
Edit2: I actually tried this myself, I worked for UPS a few years back and know most the people in my local area, UPS then delivered my Xbox back from repair, it stood on my doorstep (very easy to steal from there) when I got home, I phoned UPS and said that I had never signed for that (but the guy had written my signature as "Proof"), and he was fired the same day.

For me, I've always had good experiences with UPS in my area. Its the FedEx guys that try and pull that shit. They will come up to the door, but not actually ring the doorbell or anything, so If I didn't hear them pull up I have to wait for my package. Happened so many times that Its gotten to the point where if I know an item is being delivered by FedEx I'll post a little note on my door saying "Ring the fucking doorbell Fedex"

That's a shame
Amazon Prime uses UPS and I've had nothing but excellent service from them, in both my old house (where they'd knock and leave the package on the porch) and at my apartment (where they leave a slip on the door saying "Hey we left it with your landlord")
Thought I'd chime in here, since I had a similar experience that made me cringe at the time, but I laugh now thinking back on it.
I had ordered a $400 Samsung LCD monitor for a new computer build, and I got home to find it just sitting on the porch. It was in its original box, with giant photos showing pictures of the monitor from all angles. What had the delivery guy done? Well, he tried to hide it under the doormat. Only, the box was gigantic and the doormat small, and he didn't even lay it down flat!
It was standing fully erect, wearing the doormat like a little hat. So ridiculous.
Living on a budget sucks. I used to be an active participant in this thread; now I watch from the sidelines and while I still enjoy it greatly, I long for days past...
But I was able to come across a few new items over the past couple weeks. First, on the DVD front:
House: Season Four and Archer: Season One
I'm still on my mad run to get caught up with House, and I'm continually surprised by how compelling I still find it, despite the formula being exactly the same every single episode; the characters are just roundly fantastic.
I've never seen Archer, but people whose opinions I hold high have recommended it to me pretty much unanimously, so it better rule.
Mortal Kombat: Deception and Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub-Zero
One of these is great and the other is awful; I'll let you figure out which is which. Deception, however, is Now Available as a Platinum Hit! What the hell is the point of putting that on the packaging? Did they expect people to put down that version, go somewhere else and grab the one with the shittier packaging? Bah.
Anyways, yeah, grabbed Deception new and sealed on eBay, grabbed Sub-Zero from a local mom-and-pop store. Sub-Zero is in really fantastic condition considering its age, it looks near brand new.
I've always wondered...that new and sealed Deception...where the hell do eBayers get new and sealed games from years and years ago? They're not producing OXbox games anymore, so what gives?

I'm guessing they just never open them. If I knew what I knew now I would have some sealed SNES games. Sadly, that's not the case. I do have a sealed Blue Dragon, but I'm pretty sure I could wait almost my entire life and still never see it be worth anything.
Also, I wish I could find some of these mom and pop game stores. I went into one I had never heard of, but I'm guessing it's a chain, because it was kind of big. Anyway, first game I saw was a used copy of Barbie Horse Adventures for the Xbox. The sticker said 54.99. I walked out, and I will never go back. Ever.

It depends on where you're at. I haven't done it in a while, but last time I did it, I went to places like Craigslist and pulled up a list of garage sales in the area, then printed out a google map of the area and mapped it all out. I was in South Texas, so most of what I found wasn't anything like what I was looking for. Lots of Tejano music CDs and VHS tapes of movies in Spanish. Also hideous clothing. Not hideous funny, just fucking ugly clothes. There are actually a few websites out there that are geared towards yard saling, like http://www.yardsaletreasuremap.com/ that make stuff much easier.

I managed to pick up copies of Ico and the first Professor Layton in garage sales for $5 each. (I think I even posted pictures of both in this thread or the last one.) It's all pure luck, but when you manage to get lucky, you really get lucky.

Stories like this give me hope. The best thing about finding video games at garage sales is that the people usually don't realize what they have. I guess they just assume since it's old, no one really wants it.
I used to own a mouse like that before I was actually doing image editing every day of my god damned life (sorry senior project stresses). I used to love it. I always sort of wonder now if I still had that if it would be nicer than a normal mouse.
I find the trackpad is fine for things like illustrator and indesign and even some photoshop work as long as it doesn't involve brush strokes. I have the tablet for brushing things though.
I do wish my desktop was that clean though. That reminds me didn't there used to be a post what your desktop looked like thread? Sorry got a bit offtopic.
For the life of me I still cannot figure out why people prefer a trackpad over a mouse.
The magic trackpad is the best input device I've ever used. Computing without multitouch gestures is balls. In apps that have gesture support, like Reeder and Twitter, I can swipe and pinch my way through so much quicker than anything I could do with a mouse.

Eh, I guess it's because I use my computer for gaming too. Most of my impressions come from hating laptop trackpads, even for general use.
