And yeah I have a tablet for my more in depth image editing.

Eh, I guess it's because I use my computer for gaming too. Most of my impressions come from hating laptop trackpads, even for general use.

For gaming you definitely need a mouse, yeah. And most laptop trackpads are awful, even the one on my old white MacBook is not perfect, but the new multitouch ones are amazing.

I find the trackpad is fine for things like illustrator and indesign and even some photoshop work as long as it doesn't involve brush strokes. I have the tablet for brushing things though.

I do wish my desktop was that clean though. That reminds me didn't there used to be a post what your desktop looked like thread? Sorry got a bit offtopic.

Someone with a little more clout around here should make a desktop thread. It would be cool to see what everyone is working/playing with. I know I'll contribute.

Not sure if this counts, as it was more of a literal pick-up and less of a purchase.

So I come home from work last night, and I notice a faux-wooden entertainment center sitting by the dumpster. Examining it, there are a few scratches and dents and such, but overall it's in very good shape.

(ignore the mess, I'm still cleaning up)

Only major problem is that the cables aren't reaching to the tv / second monitor. So more re-arranging is needed.

Opened the mail today and found the 2nd volume of Batman: TAS and the second disc of my favorite anime of all time. One great reason to love Amazon : it makes any day feel - if only for a moment - like Christmas Day, when you see that package nestled in among the bills.

Honestly, I always thought Paranoia Agent was a lot more interesting for the sub-stories rather than the overarching plot.

Which was just an acid trip.

Though I do wish some of them had better clarification, like I never understood what happened to that chick with the multiple personality.

    And the episode
where the people were ghosts and they didn't know it
    , that one was great.

Degeneration is pretty decent; Advent Children is a godawful mess, even being the FFVII fanboy that I am. Though I haven't seen the "complete" version, is it really that much different?

One thing to be aware of: The new scenes for Complete look like they were rendered in HD. The rest of the original movie does not look like it was re-rendered. So there's a noticeable difference in image quality between the new scenes and the old.

This is probably my fault. I went to GoG to see if they had Descent because everyone was talking about it, saw that Blood was on sale, bought it, then accidentally started the conversation about it. :P

    I have no regrets!
Except for maybe buying Blood 2.

    pickup_11_03_21__cards-1.jpg

I had a $5 Reward Zone certificate for Best Buy, so I decided to grab a cheap PSN Card to pad my account with points for the upcoming Stacking DLC and Beyond Good & Evil HD.

I recently grabbed Mirror's Edge, Doom II RPG (I blame the Doom thread for this one too), Dungeon Raid, Tiny Wings, and Stoneship (by Cyan Worlds, makers of Myst. One of my favorite devs.) for my iPhone. Wolfenstein RPG is an older purchase, but I hadn't posted it yet and required symmetry.

Edit: As much as I love digital distribution, it makes incredibly lousy pickup photos.

This is an ooooold marketing trick that companies pull. Don't you remember the commercials? It's the same deal with books, CDs, etc.

I forget the name of the main company that would do this, but they were pretty famous for it. If you forget about it and don't buy the "full priced movies," they charge you full price for all the movies. And their idea of "full price" is usually higher than anywhere else you can find them.
