Perhaphs this is a silly question, but here goes.

The Madcatz fighting stick they were selling with SF4/Tekken etc.

Since they are USB cables...will the one branded for Xbox work on the PS3 and vice versa? (I realize the labels will be wrong but it seems like it could be a universal joystick).

Unfortunately, no. there is someone to blame but I'm not going to get into it.

You can, however, go in Dr. Stein style and put some shit in there that lets you switch between. That makes me nervous though, since I'm terrible at such crafts. Or, you can buy one of those external converters that lets you do so with PS3/360 controllers in general.

I know that the PS3 one isn't plug and play with a PC, so I imagine that one wouldn't work with a 360 either.

I will note that the 360 version IS plug and play with PC, and you can get the PS3 one to work but I believe you have to install third party drivers (motionjoy? something like that)

That has to do with your mother board, it will work on some.
The 360 will work with just about any PC though.

Edit: and if you do look into modding it to work on both its much MUCH easier I believe to do 360 -> PS3 rather then starting with a PS3 one.

And those third party drivers require you to do some pretty base level security deactivation and stuff with Windows 7, I can't say I recommend it.

Yeah it's a real pain in the ass. I've done it so I could get the regular Dual shock controller to work as a gamepad, but as you have to set up that setting everytime you restart your computer, it's a fuckin' hassle.
