Adrian Gonzalez is going to hit like sixty home runs. After fucking Petco, Yankees Stadium and Fenway Park are going to feel like little league fields.

A judge has ruled that Jamie and Frank will split the Dodgers, a big win for the former Mrs. She is reportedly trying to arrange investors to buy out Frank's share of the team.
Edit: Jeter started 150 games at SS this year for the Yankees, dude. I know those other 12 get factored in, but on the whole, Jeter's still a pretty good SS.
however you want to spin it the guy is 37, coming off his worst year ever and is the highest paid shortstop in baseball
and there's no reason to suspect he'll get better in the coming years. there is certainly reason to suspect he'll get worse

Except that the year prior to his worst year was one of his best. And that the last month of the season and the playoffs he played well, above what his average had been for the season. Because, for the first time I am told, he went to Kevin Long (Yankees hitting coach) and changed his approach. He's going to be better in '11 than he was in '10. It won't be anything like his early career, but he'll do well enough. Offensively, anyway. The defense is what it is.

I don't care if he's not that good with that loaded god damn line-up already. 270 is more than fine.
And he makes the yankees a fuckload of money
That's why there was any dispute about how much he's paid
Goose is being dumb again
oh definitely the yankees are still terrifying even with jeter
the problem becomes, more than the money, whether or not his status guarantees him a starting spot even when his game really starts to drop off (which may not happen this year but i would be willing to bet will happen sometime during his contract)

I bet it's the end of year two, end of year three. Likely end of year two, which is why they only wanted to give him three years. One totally shit year is manageable especially bringing up a younger shortstop.
Still I wouldn't be worried if Montero produces at all from the catching position.

Rivera is either pumping drugs into his body or he's some freak of nature
That entire tirade about why Obama doesn't represent America is absolutely hilarious.
Yeah. We had a bond. That type of attitude has disappeared as a whole. Now, it's OK for me to cheat, to steal, to step on somebody, to cheat somebody, to do something to make someone [else] fall, so I can get ahead in life.
No, Luke, America has always worked this way. Open a history book.
It's fine. They probably got a deal on him, he does get on base a lot and he hits for power. Plus, when the fans inevitably turn on him for having a bad batting average/not being white, he'll be able to escape.

MLB needs a cap or something. The salaries are getting out of hand. Also, even though I am a Yankees fan and my team is the biggest offender, I'm tired of every year the biggest free agents go to the same handful of teams.

If he's 20 away from Hoffman's record he's coming back
1 year, 10 million

Now they have multiple strikeout machines.

Great defender, streaky offense, 200+ strikeouts per year guaranteed.
For 10 mill they can have him.
He was so bad in '10 that we aren't even getting a pick for him. He went from Class A to Class C in one year.
I'm glad he'll be sticking around.
That's my biggest question honestly: Why would a guy who needed therapy for anxiety and panic attacks want to play for the New York Yankees?
