I hope one of those better movies is the Incredibles 2.

The only problem with the Incredibles 2 is that they pretty much wrapped up every loose end, and there's not much else for them to do except fight new villains, which seems... I dunno, not as deep as the first movie.

I was just of the opinion that apart from Toy Story, Pixar didn't really do this. They didn't really make films because of caving into market demand (was there market demand on this one?).

I mean unless Lasseter was just like, "I FUCKING LOVE CARS, LETS MAKE SOME MORE YEEAAAAHHHHH."

Which would have been a funny board meeting to attend.

    Poor, perpetually ignored Rane

And the first Cars is the only Pixar movie I'm yet to see. It just didn't appeal to me in the slightest; but hey, maybe I should see it in case the second one turns out to be a smash hit

I don't think it's incredibly groundbreaking, but it did what it wanted to do very well.

Bear in mind that I watch it about once a week because of the boys. My youngest will act out scenes from the movie with matchbox cars.

That and I got an invoice from the Assassin's Guild

ratatouille is the best pixar film, but up was a series of hamfisted heartstring-jerkers with uninteresting characters, lack of any compelling conflict, and a really lame villain

i would rag on wall-e too for its incredibly transparent moral and lame script, but the first half hour is pretty much one of the best examples of nuance in animation ever ever

i just wish they'd have kept the human characters as background scenery
