"Random" Button for Viewing Comic

Hi there, long time reader, first time poster.

I think the addition of a "random button" for navigating the comics would be a great and (relatively) simple addition to the web site. You know, you click it and it takes you to a random comic.

A lot of times I'd like to look back at older comics, not necessarily specific ones, and navigating back from the current comic (or forward from the original comic) is very time consuming and to have to do it every time I want to look at older comics is a pain.

The way the URL of the comics is set up makes it difficult to navigate to a random point in the comic because the pages are not just sequentially numbered but also include a date mark in the URL e.g. if I wanted to go to a random spot and they were just sequentially numbered I could simply go to www.pennyarcade.com/comic/# where '#' is the comic number, but as it is I have to know on what date a given comic was written to view it this way.

Just my two cents
-Will

Second. Usually I'll just go back a date in the archives and keep hitting next but a true random would be kind of neat.

Thanks. It's one thing I always wish was there, and a lot of other comics have it. I normally type a random game into the search box and start reading forwards or backwards from there.

Don't know why they got rid of it in the first place. Unless I'm mistaken that they ever had one, though I'm pretty sure they did.

I was about to start a thread on this as well, glad I found this one first.

A random button would be a wonderful addition to the site, especially for (relatively) new readers such as myself who might have missed out on your pre-360/ps3/wii era comics. I can't tell you how many hours I've spent hitting the random button on xkcd or smbc-comics over and over and over....and over.

edit - wow, just realized this thread was a necropost. Alphamonkey posting should've been a tipoff. My bad.
