What on earth is this?
It's a proper OP for Blizzard's Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game, World of Warcraft. Most players just call it WoW.
Why should I care?
Because it's an MMORPG by
Blizzard, the developer of many amazing games such as Diablo and Starcraft. This December, we see the launch of the game's third expansion.
Well, what’s in this expansion?
Glad you asked!

This patch mainly just preloaded all the data for the Shattering.
Patch 4.0.3aExpected to be released either November 23rd or 30th.
-The Shattering will occur, changing Azeroth's landmass.^
-The new race/class combinations will be available.

-You CANNOT fly in Azeroth.
-No, you still can't roll Worgen or Goblins.

^Let's discuss the Shattering, shall we? This is ongoing as I get more info.
-Zul'Gurub will be removed from the game. The raptor hatchling will still be in the game. The mounts will not.
-Ruins of Ahn'Qiraj will be changed to a 10man raid. Intended level remains the same (60).
-Loremasters will retain their achievements.
-Any pre-shattering quest removed from the game post-shattering will have the offending quests removed from their log.
-Players still working towards quest-related achievements may see their quest totals lowered as a result of the above.
-There will be new achievements for doing X quests in each post-shattering 1-60 zone. Loremasters will NOT have these by default.
-Absolutely nothing is changing in regards to gathering professions. All herbs, skins and minerals will remain the same.
-Insane in the Membrane will still be available after the shattering, but will not require Dire Maul rep.
-Players who did get their Dire Maul rep up to exalted will receive a feat of strength (as that faction IS leaving).
-All ZG achievements will become feats of strength.

I read it and because of you and this:
-Total experience required to go from 71 to 80 reduced by 20%.
I will not have wasted my time leveling my warrior this weekend and will instead level a different character!
Well...it did but they retooled the change some time ago after it was shown that outland and specifically northrend mobs were too difficult. But that was awhile back and was long since fixed.

I read it. I knew it all, already, but I read it anyways, pretending to be informed as I went.
You're welcome. ;-)

I thought those reps were being removed entirely. No? I don't think Desolace even has their quest chains anymore.

Oh, these got unlocked by that weird personality test thing, there's twenty total once they're all unlocked I think. The Gary Platner interview is pretty cool.

AHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Why would anybody be that stupid?
That day is not today however >_<
That's good news. The original figure I saw way back on the beta forums was something like 150 percent, or something like that, so I'm glad they toned it down a bit
I'm not convinced that this is a real story. Sounds like some internet copy/paste tale.
Oh yeah, dur.
I actually found the Maghar/Kurenai grinds really really easy. Particularly if you're not working on Consortium too; all those warbeads can just go to your faction. And you get rep per kill all the way to exalted.

Well, SW and Org will have portals to some Cata stuff; but that's it.
They want people to use the cities instead of everyone parking in one "hub" like in TBC/WotLK.
I feel sorry for mages.

There's one in Dal for engineers, which my Pally finds useful during Elemental invasions.

also, you'll have just your faction instead of every single person at level cap.

If 4.0.3a isn't on the 23rd, they are being cruel motherfuckers.
Dammit, only two more ZG attempts left then.

If it's not that, then a window pops up saying "World of Warcraft is performing initial setup of required data files. This may take a few minutes." It says it wants the launcher to complete, but the silly launcher sits at the start, saying it's applying non-critical updates if it doesn't crash. ~_~
Maybe I just need to copy hubby's folder over to re-do all my files.
Edit: Hmm. Seems I didn't have ownership of the drive. We'll see if that helps. >.>
Edit 2: Yep, security settings and the WoW Repair tool fixed me up I guess. Whew.
Absolute rape face
right here.
Slap in the face!
From what I've seen concerning instances in Northrend and summon requests in WotLK, the number will stay the same. I mean hell people ask for summons from Dalaran to Vault WHEN WE CONTROL WINTERGRASP!
