I assume it's a standard blood pact with stygian hell-lords, wherein your soul is forfeit to the King of Lies upon the beginning of Armageddon. Great health plan till then, though!

there is so many little things I love about this show, just looking at the names of stores in their mall "Jerk Store" "Chess Nerd" and "Ugly Baby"

Also, someone said this a few pages back and I can't help but agree, the fact that they couldn't find a way to make toy for a show full of giant robots and crazy monsters really shows a failing more on the marketing/toy people then the show itself.

That, or Williams Street just went "fuck this noise, let's get stoned and watch reruns of Tim and Eric Awesome Show". Honestly wouldn't surprise me.

    Shit.

I already made a deal for my soul when I was too young and naive to look at my options. Now I see how valuable a mint condition one is, I'm beginning to feel I was... rash.

At least I didn't trade it for a truck.

I'm already into the acceptance stage of TV cancellation mourning. At least now, I truly understand the pain of Pushing Daisies fans. Solidarity, brothers and sisters. Solidarity.

And Wonderfalls. Several others that don't come rapidly to mind.

    Also, Police Squad, retroactively.

and sometimes its worse, it leads to a slow and painful death, like Heroes.

The only things uneffected have been Avatar and Dragon Ball Z.

so the movie will probably suck but look at this thing Genndy directed for Priest

Oh the dreams of when I can see a fully realized no holds barred animated film by Genndy with all the blood and violence we could ever want

    That's pretty good.

Yeah, I would like to see Gendy make a short film, live action.

Either just let me make whatever he wants, or have him come up with a monster film. With a short film, he may be able to get the funding to create a full length movie. And it will be glorious.

Dammit. Who the hell was in charge of getting merch made for this show? I hope they lost their job. This is one of the most toyetic shows in recent memory, and I cannot buy a Titan toy because some asshole didn't do his job and they didn't make any! Goddammit!

still peeved at them cancelling Big O because it cut into ATHF's ratings

Maybe there was a change in management there? That, or whoever was in charge became so enamored of their comedy programs like Aqua Teen Hunger Force and Tim and Eric that they began to neglect anything else.

They must have forced out the dudes who put stuff like FLCL and Big O on the air. Or bricked them up in a catacomb alcove-slash-wine cellar.

I'm honestly surprised they show anything other than ATHF, Tim and Eric, and Seth Macfarlane's shows. Hell, they relegate Cowboy Bebop to 2 a.m. One of the most enduringly popular and well made anime series of all time, given the insomnia slot. I just don't get it, man.

I think they've stated previously that FLCL is the only anime they're ever really liked. But a broken clock's still right twice a day, ya know.

I think they tried pretty hard to make anime work over the years. Unless my data's wrong, it just never got anything close to decent ratings. Relative to their other shows.

A lot of it may have been demographic problems, too, of course. Like I said either here or in another thread, the people who tune in for ATHF or Sealab 2021 may very well have no interest in sticking around for Cowboy Bebop or Fullmetal Alchemist. Which is why I think the comedy shows and the action/anime programs would be better off in their own, separate programming blocks.

Yeah I'm not sure where this AS HATES ANIME JUST BECAUSE THEY'RE JERKS thing is coming from? I mean I don't think they were particularly in love with it but not to the point of actively fucking with successful shows like I'm hearing here (not counting April Fool's and occasional scheduling pranks)
