Hm. This course based around Windows Server 2008 has been such a big hassle since halfway through it. About a quarter of the class makes it through with no issues, and then the rest just run into problems in seemingly random places, with anywhere from two to three people having the same issue.
Baaaaaaalls.

Are you actually using full Server 2008 or are you using Small Business Server 2008?
What problems are you running into?

every person who doesn't like an acquired taste always seems to think everyone who likes it is faking it. it should be an official fallacy.

We're using Enterprise edition.
I forget the exact issues I was having earlier, it was network related. Essentially we couldn't connect our virtual server to the physical server's domain.
Now when I try to get the virtual server running though it gives me a bunch of issues about how it can't find the files for virtual RAM and three other things. I suspect it's because I've switched labs since I was working on it a couple of hours ago when the next class came in, especially since the network settings are borked as well.
It wouldn't be too difficult to just create a new virtual server instead and reset the network settings, but for now I'm just unwinding with some nice and easy Linux exercises until my classmates get out of one of their other classes so we can work on it together.

You can be the token biologist. Your job is keeping us off the radar of any ethnics committees and our methods out of the popular press.
Sign me up for a an elephant that gets no bigger than a st. bernard.
You'll have to put it back in the St. Bernard sized box when you're not using it, but I think otherwise, that is totally doable.
Wait I want to design the methods

I have access to the slackernet. that's the only thing that matters. if i needs stuff on the intranet i'll just switch DNS servers.

Threshold was awful, but in a way that made it excellent.
Touching Evil was a better show he was associated with that died an early death.
