I just want them to return to Jade Empire with their new and improved Not Shitty! gameplay, because if there was ever a game that needed it, man. Unless they expand that probably means pulling resources from some other team. Hopefully The Old Republic can be skeleton crewed after release and they can return to the forgotten franchise.
have the cerberus news ever been significant? the only story that sticks out in my head wasn't even relevant to the story really but it was such a good little bit on it's own: I think it was about a pro-human student group at a university protesting when some aliens threw a party that was something like "Human Appreciation Day" and they all dressed up as terrible human beings from history like Pol Pot and Hitler. I thought it was hilarious.
also, when does KOTOR get good cause I bought it on the cheap cheap on steam a while back and I think I've played roughly an hour thus far and derived no pleasure from it
Not especially important, but relevantly Cerberus News foretold of Tela Vasir's exploits long before she showed up in Shadow Broker.
Taris is pretty dull. Later you get a lightsaber and your first level in invincible jedi and things pick up.
i assume that this is going to wind up with the quarians being vindicated
if it doesn't
i'll be dropping Zaeed off at several OTHER ashland-eldfell facilities to work his magic
Vindicated of what?
I can think of several things they are blamed for
this latest flap over mining rights
Over palladium no less. They should get in touch with Shepard, apparently every other planet he surveys is made of palladium.
Which Salarain do i have to blow to get some fucking EeZo
Its not like you have to look for any of it after finishing one playthrough when the game pours more of it than you'll ever need straight into your cargo hold.
Eldfell-Ashland Energy is refusing to meet with representatives from the Quarian Conclave as they clash over rights to rich veins of palladium discovered on several asteroids on the outskirts of the Nubian Expanse. "Eldfell-Ashland's sole contribution to the project was to appear with an armed frigate after we finished surveying, then demand that we vacate the unclaimed area," says Captain Ahlis'Laspar vas Nalotir. "We will continue mining until Eldfell-Ashland presents the Conclave with proof of ownership or speaks to us without hiding behind a gun sight. We would prefer both."
Eldfell-Ashland Energy has accused the Migrant Fleet of destroying a cruiser, three frigates, and six mining freighters in the Nubian Expanse over a mineral-rights dispute. The quarians denied all charges, saying that they last saw Eldfell-Ashland's ships retreating out of sensor range, presumably to refuel at their cruiser by the system's mass relay. Eldfell-Ashland spokesperson Yves Nevil responded: "Yesterday we lost contact with our ships out in the Expanse. Shortly afterward, we received a distress signal from the MSV Stanislaw reporting an 'alien attack.' We have very little doubt as to what happened here." Eldfell-Ashland officials are planning to go before the Council and ask that the Migrant Fleet be banned from Citadel space.
The Migrant Fleet's place in Citadel space is today's leading debate, as the Presidium prepares to launch an independent investigation into the destruction of an Eldfell-Ashland Energy mining fleet. "That this is even being discussed is frightening," says asari diplomat Cerca T'Awnas. "There's been no time to inspect the fleet's wreckage, and no formal charges were laid. It's a blatantly premature condemnation of the of the quarian people." Public opinion on the matter, however, is more mixed. "The Flotilla is a floating scrap yard," says an entry from popular blogger Feyro Derlan. "When too many ships are beyond repair, what are the quarians going to do, take out a loan? It was only a matter of time before they turned pirate."
They should just send Garrus and me to sort it out. Backed up by the logical extension of Shepard and Garrus being bro's. A joint task force from the Systems Alliance and Turian Fleets. Lets see what the miners and Quarians do then.

I would go there and ruin everyone's shit and do some major probing.
I mean major.
Edit: We might even stay for some of the Palladium too.
I'm thinking that the first alien species ever encountered by humanity, approaching in starships, would be an arresting development that would halt all work on the relay and send everyone scrabbling to communicate/defend. They could then play charades, or communicate through math or something. A picture of the relay coupled with a picture of a disaster, like an explosion, would probably get the point across until some pidgin was developed. Alternatively, you could just try to slaughter all of them indiscriminately because fuck these guys.
Stupid turians.
Also, I don't know if this was mentioned before, but I just noticed today: Bioware's store is offering 20% off on orders over $45 until the 30th. That brings the N7 hoodie down from ugh expensive to just very expensive!
They were about to open the relay and I'm guessing turian/human communications weren't compatible yet. It's either shoot them or risk another Rachni War. You don't have time to wave around pictures.
And there was no indiscriminatory slaughter. Turians didn't escalate it anywhere until a retaliatory force by Alliance attacked them in turn. Turians attacked first sure, but they did not follow the starship that escaped to kill all it's friends too. Humans turned it into a war.
Hell, it says simply that turians opened fire. It's not even known if the starships were destroyed at all, unlikely seeing as one of them managed to escape.
And turians are stupid? I'm sorry, I thought it was Alliance opening relays like it's no thing. Even if your species hasn't gone through insanely destructive wars as a result of dumbass relay opening it probably isn't a smart thing to just go opening every space gate that comes in your way and might lead to god knows what.
After discovering the Charon Relay, humans began a rapid expansion thanks to their new-found connection to the mass relay network. Hoping to expand their territory and driven by immense curiosity about the galaxy, they began activating every mass relay they could find.

durrrrr
The Systems Alliance didn't know the danger of opening any and all relays they found. And the Turians didn't know that the human race wasn't going to start the next Rachni style conflict. So yeah, its unfortunate but conflict was going to happen. Once communications were established conflict stopped. Basically the first contact war was one massive misunderstanding.
There is no "risking another rachni war." Activating a mass relay means using it. It's not like we have an on/off switch for those. If dangerous aliens were waiting behind it they could come at any time, the danger is of going through and provoking them. The turians could stop that through contact, which as SoundsPlush said is an arresting development.
so Mass Effect 2 is on Amazon right now for $9..... prices for this game have been pretty low lately, but I'm really tempted to pull the trigger on this. I've been working through a massive backlog and have been hoping for a platinum hits version of ME2 to come out, but no announcements have popped up.
what do you guys think.... grab this now and just buy all the DLC or wait for platinum hits with all DLC included?
Yeah, but wherever you fit the time to play ME2 into the year, it's going to be just as good and if you wait for all the DLC it will be a longer, more complete experience.
So what do you guys suggest for a class on the second playthrough?
I've played Adept in both ME1 and 2, picking up an Assault Rifle as soon as I could. I was leaning towards Vanguard or Sentinel. Tech Armor looks pretty badass and was the first ability that came to mind when I was mulling over what to pick. Charge reminds me of my Warrior days in WoW, but I've heard it gets you killed more often than not. .
I'm considering doing an Insanity run for my second playthrough. Do you only get to choose a bonus ability if you go New Game + or can you choose one as long as you've beaten the game? The reason I ask is that if I can choose an ability, I can make the Sentinel pretty damn close to a Biotic, which I'm used to playing.

Also you can assign any character a bonus power once you've unlocked it once. So boot up a new save and pick whatever you wish, I would suggest Infiltrator or Soldier if you want a different experience and Sentinel if you want the safest/most effective possible character experience.

Curly shamed me into stopping pining for more DLC, so I'm going to delve into splinter cell conviction and ss4 for a while. Wake me up when Bioware launches more Mass Effect goodness.
I play soldier because I like assault rifles and pumping aliens full of bullets. If they had a biotic class with a rifle I would be all on that like TIM on an asari hooker.

I played soldier on my first playthrough because I wanted to shoot stuff with guns. I assume this is the reason why so many choose soldier first time around.
After playing vanguard though, there's just no going back.

So pick rifles as your bonus spec.
Soldier is a dumb class, all the other classes can do the same and more. Different ammo just doesn't cut it when something like warp ammo is just all round excellent vs everything.

If that hadn't been released so late in the Xbox's lifetime I think it would have been much bigger

I wish I could go back to my ME2 naive state

In a game where I can choose between a guy who shoots a gun and a veritable Jedi who shoots a gun, I'm going with the Jedi.
I've never played as a soldier in ME2. Only ME1. Expel me too.
There is a reason they put in the soldier. It's for people who love the story/characters/universe but just DON'T WANT TO HAVE ANY FUN.
edit: Just kidding of course. You hate everything about ME2. That's why you play as soldier. You probably also eat babies.

At least I'm not a Batarian sympathizer, Batarian sympathizer.
Biotics, on the other hand, do.
Also, I don't like magic in general (and calling it biotics doesn't change the fact that its space magic).
So I'm going to change up my av/sig for December. There any good repositories for Mass Effect related ones on the web?
After playing vanguard though, there's just no going back.
Good thing as a Vanguard, I can do both.
And force pushing them into the sun.
So pick rifles as your bonus spec.
