so are instant movies still going to have that annoying expiration nonsense? I'd be more inclined to go streaming only if once a movie hit instant it never leaves.
Isn't that only for Starz Play movies?
I don't think so... I've noticed that as movies get removed from instant they go into your saved queue area. Looking at mine right now under queue -> instant tab I have 147 Saved Instant movies. Many of which I remember having on my queue and just didn't get around to watching yet, and doubt some titles would ever be on Starz.
some examples from my saved list there are:
Soylent Green
Westworld
Utawarerumono (WTF..... what is this and when did I add that???)
Maniac Cop
Maniac Cop 2
Farscape: Season 1 (another... WTF... I just added this within the past month along with Lexx and Babylon 5 to go along with dead sci-fi series I never really spent enough time to check out)
I could go on with some oddball titles I don't think Starz ever carried, but some I even watched portions of, but didn't finish and know they aren't Starz selections.
Just noticed this today, but a good number of titles on streaming are expiring in the next couple of weeks; lot of BBC and Discovery Channel stuff, so better start watching before you throw the remote into your TV.
But they're adding Free Willy 4, so I guess that makes up for it? :?
I watched the entire run of X-Files on streaming in four days.
i am not sure if this is possible
in fact i'm almost sure it isn't
edit: that came off like i was nitpicking
it was more thinking aloud since i've been watching that show a lot and it is pretty slow going despite how often i watch it

If it weren't for The Wire I might consider this.
And it's a 2 dollar difference between the new DvD plan and the new Streaming plan.

I'm sure Netflix wants to have every movie and show ever available for streaming, but it's a long and complicated matter of getting the rights from tv and movie studios.
were I a Netflix executive or board member I would absolutely be trying to ween everyone off the physical DVD market for a purely online business model
I think they're offering this as proof that the online licensing model works, and the more people that pick it up the faster they'll be able to show the studios that they can sell digitally
I'm not giving up my blu-ray subscription, I like the nature shows too much
There used to be a lot more Werner Herzog movies on Netflix Instant Watch than there is now, but there's still a few quality films that are worth the time to check out.
I'm happy with the Netflix change. Was on a 3 dvd plan, changed to the one dvd plan because I realized we just don't watch all that many dvds any more with streaming. But there is definitely still stuff that's not streaming that we want to watch, so this is a good compromise I'm happy with.
Since I moved in with my girlfriend and as poor as we are. We pretty much can't afford cable. We exclusively use netflix for tv. I do miss local news and sports though... ESPN on the 360 can only do so much

I need a good Digital Antenna I guess. Last time I tried I only got 10 channels and most of them were foreign. Telemundo came in clear as a bell and local news for CH26 was terrible. Where are the priorities!

I will be paying an additional $4 per month for no noticeable increase in service, though I'm sure usage by new members has probably increased a lot.
...I was not expecting it to start off that way
i guess that's one way to win the audience over.
it pretty effectively sets up that the bad guys are really bad but damn
Also Chris Evans and Jeffrey Dean Morgan continue to be awesome

lose access to so many good movies
for 12 bucks a year
dumb dumb dumb
The only reason we have Netflix is for the instant streaming
We don't even touch the DVD's most days. Downgrading!
Edit: Also watched almost all the old MST3Ks on streaming, I was reliving my childhood up in here.
1, 4, 5, 6 and first contact just ain't cutting it
Two and three are on there last I checked

And then Scum.
If you've got a sharp eye, you'll have a good laugh. You'll also be fairly entertained, because they're pretty good movies.
I really need to see Grizzly Man again.
This.
Also there's stuff like commentary that you only get on the disc
It doesn't sound like much but when I have to keep remotes up so babies can't reach them it becomes a pain in the ass.
Or when I'm trying to keep the kids busy with some Blues Clues it would be nice if I didn't have to worry about starting up episodes every 20 minutes.

I saw A Prophet last week

Yay! The end scene filled me with a weird sense of joy and awe.
seriously, it was terrible
I thought it was fun but it had serious problems
The Zombieland guys are writing the sequel though so I expect it to be better
