Hey BLOPS BLuddies. I'm heading home in a day, then I'll shoot off to a mate's for my copy of BLOPS. And then I'll be on that shit like white on rice Sunday morning and night Murka time. Can't wait to pubstomp again.
I wanted to pose a question to all my console gamers out there. I play Black ops and MW2 on the XBOX, and i keep seeing people say they are using high sensitivities in the 6-10 region. I don't know how you guys do it, but i have to have it on the lowest sens, 1 or 2 to even be able to aim and hit a target. Sure i can't spin around as fast or something but at least i can hit whats in front of me. Is there some big secret i'm missing? thanks!

Ratchet it up and force yourself to get used to it because if you're running 1-2 you're at a huge disadvantage.
I use setting 7 and try and keep my turns small and tight. Honestly, I've been playing most FPS with around that level and it's just natural. I don't know how PC people do it though with super sensitive mouse settings. Again, lots of practice.
Also, I've been rolling a silenced SPAS lately but having no real luck with it. In the open I get killed, which I should, but even up close I'm not netting one-hit kills. I know the SPAS has been downgraded from MW2, but is there anything else I should be trying?

I just played a game of sharpshooter on Firing Range and had a 13 streak with an Enfield with no attachments as far as I could tell and then an ACOG Stoner which was the final round so I was getting a x4 bonus for every kill. It was awesome. A later game gave me a Stoner as the final weapon and I got 7 kills with it to go from 5th to 2nd. Damn this gun is great. I had to go spend a bunch of money to buy all the LMGs to get this one.
Its good that alot of PC admins have been really quick about banning hackers. Its just so easy to be absolutely certain when every second of every game is recorded from every perspective....
Just had 4 people on one team booted simultaneously for care package glitching. Glorious.

Last night on Grid the enemy team called in 3 care packages simultaneously, all in that back corner with the power generator thingies. Our team hoofed it back there to find every single one stuck up on the electric wires out of reach.
I had 2 people in the same game die because they tried to shoot my C4 while standing too close to it. I just saw "Assisted Suicide" pop up at random intervals, which was kind of funny.
I never thought I'd say this, but I wish gunships were a little harder to shoot down in BLOPS. Not like AC-130s which were a total bitch, but maybe take 3 rockets. I finally got a gunship last night, only to be taken out by a guy with a strela and cold blooded pro in about 3 seconds.
Of course, I do the same thing when I am on the other team :P But still, feels a little cheap. Those fucking little cars are much more difficult to destroy before they kill you.
You can still get packages that land on those electrical wires. You have to jump and initiate the pickup and then not move til it's completed. You could do similarly in MW2 as well

i hate that people with hardline pro can dick with YOUR carepackages, it should take time for them to change it. i've been using sam turrets a lot due to how OP chopper gunner is, and when someone changes it to something retarded like RC XD or ammo, i just want to put my foot though the internet up their ass.
Welp, I think that's the end of my experiment with sniping in this game. Firstly, many maps are very unfriendly to sniping, with only a couple real firing lanes. Crisis for example. Array is decent, Havana can work too, but many maps just don't seem to be built with much sniping in mind.
Second, the way BLOPS is designed, it's exceedingly difficult to avoid just getting rushed by someone that happened to spawn 10 feet behind you who immediately notices on his minimap that you just fired your big, unsilenced rifle around the corner.
Third, the mechanic of holding down LS to hold breath really tales a toll on my hand. Long sessions already cause my hand to ache, but hold breath really has my thumb throbbing after a little while. I wish I could map hold breath to a bumper or something. This is a personal issue though.
Fourth, all the rifles seem underpowered except the L96. But the L96 takes FOREVER to cycle the next round, seems a LOT worse than the Intervention. I also have trouble with attachments, none of the scopes seem to click for me, I even tried the ACOG lol.
I know the maps can't be changed, but I wonder if there's really anything that could help the state of sniping in BLOPS. I also could simply be doing everything wrong.

And you will take big risks to force those situations to come up.
It's so odd. I mean I understand that you can't please everyone, but sniping seems like an afterthought overall. Even the small maps in MW2 had firing lanes at several points, BLOPS feels more cluttered and sightlines are hard to find. In all the ranges where a sniper rifle can do well, an AR does almost as well, plus is better at more ranges.
I've just been running with an ACOG M16 and honestly I'm doing Longshots easy.

Dude people can barely get kills by sitting in a corner facing their claymore with a silenced Galil and Ghost. You expect them to get kills with the shittiest (albeit manliest) weapon in the game?
Snipers are cool. Every time I see a sniper, even if they are trying to quickscope me, I give them a mental salute for being different and not using a fucking Skillet or FAMAS.
Had a friend of mine come over to visit and he asked for advice on getting better at BLOPS. I watched him play a game of Domination and noticed he did two things poorly. He constantly got into engagements in the open and he wasn't watching his radar.
I told him to play the next game doing only a few things differently: Run from cover to cover, crouch when not moving, and keep his eyes on the radar looking for orange dots. That's it.
Mother fucker went 10-0 calling in a Spy Plane, Blackbird, and Chopper Gunner while going through three different guns of ammunition.
I have never been more proud and impressed.

Some guy on the opposing team stuck his teammate with the crossbow, who then proceed to run into the room and blow us all up.
We used to do this with C4 in MW1. We usually made the teammate scream "DURKA DURKA DURKA" while they ran into the room.
