sounds simple enough but honestly this is the first CGI film I've seen where I really think it couldn't have been done in handdrawn animation (also the 3D is worth the price)

Oh man, I really want to see this. Is it a very big shame to not catch it in theaters or will it be not missing much to wait for it to be on DVD?
Oh, those floating lanterns are a real thing? I feel kinda silly. When the movie showed the King and Queen sending up the first floating lantern my thoughts were "okay, so the kingdom developed magic or something? Shouldn't they at least mention that?"

I didn't make the connection. Like I said, I feel silly. It's not like I went home from the movie thinking 'fucking floating lanterns, how do they work'.

I finally saw this today! I no longer care that they didn't quit CG cold turkey. It was really good!
Listening to the soundtrack now. I think the opening song is my favorite. But I'll have to listen through a few times to be sure.
I really, really like Rapunzel. Very memorable protagonist for some reason.
Having listened to the soundtrack I'm changing my mind on the catchiness/quality of the songs. I love the opening and ending credits songs, but my favourite is Kingdom Dance (the wordless one). The bar song is actually the one I listen to least!

I thought the movie was going to end with her cutting her own hair off
I thought it would have been more symbolic of her coming into her own
Instead she follows that same traits as every other Disney princess...allowing the guy to make all the choices for her
I actually thought "Friends on the Other Side" felt strangely neutered. It was supposed to be a big villain piece like "Poor Unfortunate Souls", "Be Prepared", etc. but it just didn't have that power to it. I blame Randy Newman's inability to write songs with passion.
no I mean I understand because you highlighted "my girlfriend" and you think that it is funny because you are implying he mentioned his girlfriend in the sentence for the sole purpose of proclaiming to the internet that he has a girlfriend
but I am saying that in this situation it isn't really applicable because people go to the movies with their girlfriends all the time! That is a very common activity

The Tangled soundtrack really starts to sound good after a couple of listenings. I am not a fan of Mandy Moore's vocal talents, however

I wonder when it'll be released on dvd/blu-ray
Jimothy, you misspelled "Friends on the Other Side" you silly goose.
"so was this CG or hand-drawn?"
this is a woman who goes to the movies at least as much as me, possibly more
I did my best to answer her without letting a "what the hell is wrong with you, are you blind" tone creep into my voice, but I don't know how I did
That's a wonderful song! "Almost There" is just that much better.
When's the next big Disney conference? I need to know what they're doing after Pooh, like, a week ago.
It's pretty good. All ages can enjoy it, too.

uh
wow
wow what?
Aw c'mon man sometimes a person just goes to see something with his or her significant other
this is not a ridiculous thing to say

someone will come in here and understand why this is a funny thing
