A sense of calm and serenity washes over me now that my gift is in the post. I can now happily sit back and wait for the post office to take my giving gift out and bring my receiving gift in. And in the meantime I bask in the warmth of other people's gift posts! Tis truly the Season.
So, I am wrapping presents right now. I am also wrapping yours, Santee! I am going to take a picture of them under my tree and post that to tease everyone who hasn't received a gift yet. Mwahaha.
My gift is on the way. I sent it a few days ago. And by a few days ago, I mean I ordered it and had it delivered. It isn't very creative because I suck, and apparently so do my stalking skills. Either way, I'm sure it will be enjoyed...at least I hope. ITS THE THOUGHT RIGHT?
I'll do better next year when I am back in the states.
Hey Judge-Z! I turned in my final exam last night which meant I could start reading Old Man's War today at work. I'm only one chapter in, but it's already awesome. Feels a lot like Heinlein which I later noticed is in the blurb on the front of the book. The concept so far has already got me hooked.
I'm worried with all this shaving talk Santa might shave off his beard and turn from jolly old elf to chubby creeper dude.
In other news, I'm waiting for a few final components to arrive by the end of the week so I can get my arts and crafts on, then my package will be off to see the santee, the wonderful santee of oz. Funny how December is just flying by...

A++ would receive gifts from again. :^:
Woot! Grats on finishing the grad work, and I'm glad the book has hooked you. OMW is absolutely homage-y towards Starship Troopers, but I found it to be less adolescent and fascism-apologist in tone. I really enjoyed the main character - he seems to have a similar worldview to my own.
You'll want to get your hands on the sequels some day, then!
Glad you're enjoying the gifts, would gift again. I am so stepping things up next year even more, though, what with all the devices flying around these parts.
On a general SS related note - anyone else do a lot of mail-order Christmas shopping, see the box on your step, get all excited that it's your SS present and then, no, it's just the fancy sheets your wife wanted?
Yeah. Three days in a row of packages.
Take your time, Santa, not complaining in the least, it's just funny how this turns me into a little kid on Christmas Eve, every gorram day!
Since a week has passed, I would say definately alert your santee that they should be looking around for a package.
There's always the chance that a package gets delivered to the wrong house.
One time FedEX dropped off one of ours at a house on another road. Like they weren't even trying to get the right street and number. And because no one was living at the house, at the time, it was a week or so before we discovered it.
Another time, a package for my sister just never showed up at all.
Luckily, USPS and UPS seem to know the secret to finding our house.

Surprisingly, I went the opposite direction. I got so wrapped up in figuring out what to get my Santee that I completely forgot the whole "I get stuff too" part of it. When I got home one day, my wife had some boxes for me and I was like "I didn't order anything..." It wasn't until I started cracking them open that the lightbulb finally lit up for me.
You know what I have here? A tracking number. It's used to 'track' if you will, your present as it slowly makes its way towards you if you will. Apparently at some point customs might get involved. Cocaine is legal in your part of the world right?
Tidying up this evening, I found a Royal Mail "sorry you were out" note, because they triedto deliver a parcel that needed signing for, and no-one answered the door to them it's either more stuff I've ordered for my family for Christmas, or, maybe my santa's gift has tried to arrive! I'll check the Post Office in the morning

I'm trying not to think about the gift too much. Because I know things take a long time to get here. But I'm really happy with all the cheer going on here!

I don't even think about mine until I get my Santee's delivered. Once the Santee's picture post goes up it dawns on me that I'll get a package too. Then, I too forget about it.
My girlfriend said the mail room at her job is showing a box has arrived which is more than likely from a special santa I wont be able to get it until tomorrow though as it arrived after they stopped allowing packages to be picked up for the day. Pics inc tomorrow!
Hmm... Amazon is not working properly at all right now, but I think I'll be getting the last two parts of the gift to Santee. I'm so excited!!!!! If they come today, I'll send it out today!!!!
I've just been informed that my gift is supposed to be here Friday. Depending on how it was shipping that means I'll probably be able to get it Saturday morning or Monday. Yeah! Thanks santa!
Hey santa, i'm a bit busy in the upcoming week. If you've mailed anything already or are going to mail it soon, I would appreciate a proxy PM just to let me know, if not, oh goodie.
Just heard about this through a Kotaku comment (http://www.kotaku.com.au/2010/12/kotaku-gift-guide-secret-santa-2/) and I know i'm a bit late but is it still possible I can participate? I don't particularly want to receive a gift but I would love to stalk and give, so all I need is a mission objective :P
EDIT:
Scratch that, I have chosen, i'll try and get him / her to get on here and post some pics.

unfortunately I think you've missed the boat by about a month. Though you could probably sign up as an easter bunny (who do the secret santa thing on the second round in case someone gets their package stolen by disgruntled Canadian postal workers or otherwise do not receive packages) PM Doc Holiday or Hypatia for more details.

There's actually an old Gillette ad in which Santa does just that.

Ask a proxy (but not publicly, or it defeats the point!)

Your gift is officially in the care of the USPS.
May god have mercy on it's soul.

After a very rough day it was nice to come home to a mysterious box:
Ho, ho, ho what could this be. Let's look at the card
More to come, eh? Time to take a look in the box!
Yay, I wanted to buy some points recently so this works out. I await patiently the second part of the gift! Thanks Santa, you made my day better!

If you live West of me, and live in a house/apartment that starts with the 4th digit of my SSN... Get ready!!
I may live in apartment that is pretty far West. It could be me!
Also Santee you should be getting your gift Friday. I'm actually more excited for my santee to get his gift than I am to get mine.
That is a cool feeling.
