Are you fucking serious? My Chemical Romance? Really?

Having listened to these songs: Hahahahahahaha, you can't be serious. Are you sure you're not just angry at yourself because your defective brain is making you think this junk is good?

spex, sometimes you're the biggest ass.

note: i have not heard anything but nananana and that sounded ok.

Saying MCR is awful hardly makes him the biggest.

i think he is overreacting yes, which is a thing he does.

but i don't really care about metal and maybe it's my fault that i can't feel but this stuff to be pretty middle of the road.

certainly not something i'd feel compelled to publicly lambast some poor soul for, if he thinks it's good.

    medium sized ass then. BAM!
    we are in consensus here.

The last track on the album, Vampire Money, is a lot of fun.

It's like they ripped off Ballroom Blitz's opening and then made a stupid garage rock song and just went with it.

This is probably my favorite song on the record, along with Party Poison. They can really crank out a good garage-punk vibe when they feel like it.

I always listen to this one Classic Rock Channel but when my mom is in the car she changed it to Oldies whenever anything newer than the 70s comes on.

    is it?!?!?!?

I haven't been reading this thread because god knows I do not like MCR, but if people are calling them metal then that is not very sane, even before getting into whether they're good or not.

Next up, the synthetic rock group The Avett Brothers!

Musical Genre distinction also tickles me pink.

There are like three hundred different "types" of metal.

    It's really silly.

Sure, but you wouldn't call the Beatles metal, anymore than you would call MCR metal.

Too me much of these distinctions are useless and I think the system could be better than just "whatever the band says they are"

But yeah there are some things that just would not fit. I'm not so sure about MCR because I've never heard their music though.

Yeah, they're more avant-garde-post-renaissance-pre-crab-pre-black metal than anything.

That would be great. I'm going to start up a polka band and market it as a hardcore death metal.

I'd say that MCR is mainstream pop rock, or punk rock if you want to use that term. Even an Emo band. Metal they are not.

    this is not metal.

you can either look at bands you like and their concert tour list, or find big venues and look at their schedule.

Thanks, that is a way to do that.

I guess maybe Ticketmaster might list upcoming shows for really big concert halls and stuff like the Stranahan too.

ticketmaster is a good site, but doesn't cover everything. For instance the Avett Brothers concert wasn't under ticket master.

True I just figured they'd have most of the big theaters in town for some of the really big names.

Going to check around some of the venue's sites too I wanna see something soon.

i think Spex just said MCR is shitty and then posted metal as a failed example as to why they're "shitty"
