I beat the original Golden Sun with all the Djinn attached to their corresponding party member. I realized years after that that was a stupid idea. I would even refuse to set djinn if I had too many of one type and had to put a new one on the wrong party member, so they just sat there unused.

When I bought the first GS, it was used so it didn't come with the box or the booklet. I made it halfway through the game before I found out I could use summon spells with all the Djinn I had gathered. I was like "what the fuck? When did this shit happen!?"

Still haven't played the Lost Age, and I really need to fix that.

Yeah, I got boned out of it yesterday too. At Gamestop anyways. I hear places like K-Mart and Walmart had it in on time.

I didn't see it at Wal-mart yesterday. I should have asked if they had it in the back.

But whatever, I picked it up there a few hours ago.

It's basically identical to the first two so far which is not at all a bad thing. The deceptively linear dialogue is still somewhat annoying and so far (only at the first town) seems a bit juvenile.

Got this earlier. Made it to the World Map. Gameplay has been very much the same but with touch screen stuff added to it.

Dialog is still long winded and not so good. That's to be expected from this series, though. Most JRPGs in general too.

As for Golden Sun I just got Rief.

If I didn't know what to expect from this game I think it would be a slight bit frustrating. Luckily for me I have grown an exoskeleton specifically for protecting me against the silliness of JRPGs.

Solving puzzles and dicking about in dungeons is still fun. Long winded shitty dialogue is not.

I'm in the UK and my housemate preordered this for me as a Christmas/birthday present (birthday's 27th). Preorders tend to come in a day or two before release. Christmas comes way after the 10th. 15 days, in fact! That's a lot of days, even after 7 years in the waiting (long time fan here).

So - do I respect that this is a Christmas present and wait 15 days, or do I ask to open that motherlover as soon as it arrives through the door?

So this game is actually pretty good. Still has the annoyingly-long pieces of dialogue, but other than that, its pretty fun.

Spoilered 2 things.

Alex is back, and there's 2 new forms of Psyenergy. One of these things you could have probably figured out easily.

So after like 5 years I've gone back and beaten the crap out of Golden Sun 1, which I never ever played. Skipped straight to TLA.

I wished heartily for a fast forward button, but I didn't find the dialogue that offensive.

What I did find offensive was the ease with which I handed everything its ass. If I knew there was a boss coming up, four djinn of each type would suddenly be on standby mysteriously.

Battle would start. Since bosses always go last it ended up being

"Let's see THOR BOREAS JUDGEMENT METEOR ow he kinda hurt one of my guys.

Psynergy the fuck out of him I have so much PP there is no reason not to stop using magic all the time forever.

shit he's dead. whelp."

Although the Fusion Dragon actually forced me to use a few of the twelve waters of life I had accumulated and one of my many many psi crystals.

I felt beaten.


And now I'm running through The Lost Age using pretty much the same strategy. Although thus far the most difficulty I've encountered has been inputting that 260 character password.

Actually, I do enjoy summons in this game. They're pretty fun to watch.
