It's pretty cool assuming you like Raiden. But it also doesn't do anything other than put Ezio in Raiden's suit and helmet and make everything involving hidden blades look super awkward given that you don't have hidden blades anymore. And I don't know why I hadn't thought about it before, but after seeing that I'm so fucking disappointed that they didn't replace the screen flash and enemy suspicion icons with exclamation points/question marks and the MGS alert noise when you're in the Raiden costume.
I haven't been able to horse tackle by just high profile grabbing from a horse when riding it normally. I've been able to assassinate from a horse just fine with a high profile assassinate, but swapping for the grab button to tackle has been doing nothing for me. I could not tell you why this is.
You gotta lock on first to make it reliable. Just tried it out. Just lock on to who you want to tackle. So you can't do it on a random civvy but you can do it to any guard, pounce on couriers/pickpockets and such as long as you lock on.
You can even do this to other guard horsemen which is funny cos they're all like "WTF MANG MY HORSE" and then you can canter over to your previous horse, jump back onto it and ride away while they go @#$@#$@#$ at you.
edit: after some more testing I got him to try and pounce on a guard pack without a lock on, using the soft lock, but I would lock on just to be safe. You also need to be quite close to them for it to work. To test this I'm holding high profile to go full speed, speeding straight after the target and mashing grab when I'm in range and they're locked.
I guess I wasn't getting close enough, because I use the hard lock for most everything.
If you're near the end of the game and still need some random trade items for your remaining shop quests, there's a way to generate an infinite number of them. It's not really a glitch so much as a weird design oversight.
One of the last thief missions has you attack three bandits on horses, with the 100% sync requirement being... kill with hidden blade, I think. After you've offed two, the third will take off on his horse like a bat out of hell. Chase him until he stops and gets off his horse to attack you, then kill him.
Here's where it gets interesting. So long as you don't do the "become anonymous" part of this quest - i.e. don't leave the yellow circle on the minimap - the game will spawn an infinite stream of bandits. And bandits always have one random trade item when looted. Kaching!
I strongly suggest doing this one with mercenaries, if you can find any, and three available packs of assassins. I believe there's also a trio of helpful civilians nearby, as well. The reason being that the stream of attackers are so constant that it can be difficult to loot the corpses littering the ground (though smoke bombs help, if you can find enough to keep using them).
One thing I didn't get from the above trick was aconite, the final piece I needed for fast poison. That handled itself soon enough: I was running along the roofs near the Assassin base when I bumped into a civilian who for some reason was on the roof, sending him off the edge. His ragdoll cartwheeled down, spun around on a pole, and did a truly epic face plant into the ground. Turns out he had not only landed immediately in front of the shop quest medic, but he was a Borgia messenger with the aforementioned aconite. Score.
Edit: Am I the only one who just can't get past the fact that Raiden wears really feminine high heels?
It's an important tool in psyching out his opponents. If I had to choose a fight to the death against a cyborg ninja versus a cyborg ninja in high heels, I'd pick the one without, because only a true badass wears high heels to a fight to the death.

Also, when you see him wielding katanas with his heels, you'll probably shit yourself.

Guys guys, after much frustration and a very late night last night, I have now platinumed AssBro. Getting to level 50 was such a chore (40-50 took about as long as it took to get from 1-40), AssBro is now relegated to the shelf. At least until my probable series playthrough before AC3 next year.

Can you guys patch in a feature where if somebody goes on a rooftop for more than ten seconds, everyone in the round is emailed their address so somebody can find him and kick him in the nuts?

I'm not quitting, I'm just running for the hills to uh... Get some water. Yeah, water.
I actually got sick of online once I hit level 40 but with level 50 so close, I grinded my way there. Then of course the bloody game bugged out and I didn't get the level 50 trophy when I got there. I ended up having to quit the game, boot it back up and go into multiplayer again before I got it.
The best Multiplayer Tip I can offer after 50 levels is this: After you make a kill, fucking run. I don't care how low-key you play, dart for a rooftop real quick and get your bearings. Take note of how many people are hunting you and consider that before you worry about your next contract. Likely, before you even get that far, you'll actually see your pursuer and have a little bit more time to counter it.
On a more biased note, Smoke Bombs / Charge is superior.
edit: Anyone have a favorite multiplayer level? I am very fond of Venice. That level-spanning rooftop is a lot of fun. :rotate:
1) people are sure to have witnessed your kill, if not, you're lucky
2) you don't have a target, thus your incognito won't drain, so why not get the fuck out of there?
3) you'll force your pursuers to run to maintain, or prolong their kill as long as possible

I've been trying to find images of the multiplayer maps but they simply do not exist on the internet it would seem.
I always haul ass out of there as soon as I get a kill assuming the dogpile doesn't occur immediately.
I use the camera line of sign on the incognito meter to pick my target dupe out of a crowd. I still haven't managed a gun kill, it just seems to incongruous with the rest of the gameplay. I hate that ranged weapons are in the game. I'm curious to see if another 10 or 20 levels are added in the dlc if people are already making level 50.
The hidden gun is a strange thing. Most the time, I'm glad to have been killed by it because of it's low point output. Whenever I actually try to use it in my loadout, I never find near enough occasion.
What I liked doing in Manhunt was pretending I suspected a different group. So I'd go over to the group they're hiding in, poison him and then move onto looking at a different group. I liked to think they breathed a sigh of relief right before they fell to the ground and died. Walking passed and poisoning people that never even noticed me is fun too but doesn't really happen often in Manhunt.
So.. Project Legacy.. Any time I click on Training or Contract all that happens is that I can't click any more buttons until I refresh the page. Also Lockbox just gives me a giant white window with a scrollbar on the side, but it's empty, so while I'm sure the scrollbar is actually scrolling, there's nothing to see...

I'm finding Disguise to be a fun offensive option in Manhunt.
Most groups I approach will drop a smoke bomb the second a hunter model gets too close, even if they don't know it's a PC.
Of course, they're looking for Barbers, so when a Smuggler wanders past, they don't worry. Whoops.
It's annoying when another teammate steals your kill, though. I had a kill ready that would have gotten 600+ easy (hidden/focus/incognito), then my teammate just shot the guy for a lousy 100.
That said, I don't know if it's bad tactics or luck of the draw, but I'm on a massive losing streak in Manhunt lately. Are there any good tactic guides out there, something to help me? I got completely obliterated last night, but since I was up against a team made up of xx RED Ranger xx, xx GREEN Ranger xx and xx PINK Ranger xx, there may have been a higher then normal degree of communication amoungst my opposition.

So I picked up Machiavelli's The Prince (the actual book, not some in-game item) and the history in the foreword is remarkably close to what actually happens in AC:B. Chesare was acknowledged to basically be a psychotic asshole in a time overflowing with psychotic assholes and that's without going into the rumors of incest and abuse and all that fun stuff. He did, in fact, trick one set of enemies long enough to have two of them strangled in their own dungeon.
And you know how people don't like how the game kind of jumps around at the end and we don't know where Ezio ends up when
he kills Chesare?
Yeah, that's basically what happened with Chesare (historical spoilers, ironically)
Chesare actually did become grievously ill right at the time his chosen Pope (the Pope Chesare kills in the game) died, then ends up dying in an obscure battle in Spain a couple years later. So the game ending is choppy, but it does actually end up as a fairly accurate portrayal of Chesare plummeting from power, dropping off the map, and then dying uselessly a couple years later.
Also, all the crap with the infighting between Italian families? On the mark. In fact, the region where Machiavelli operated was insanely political and officials often only served in elected positions for a matter of months because everyone was so afraid of someone else trying to take control. As for the French, AC:B actually lays off of them a good bit because it turns out that France and bunch of other countries laid claim to the region. France actually had a much larger presence in the region than a couple of outposts, so Ubisoft actually dialed back a lot on the French screwing with things (what a surprise). And the actual Machiavelli estimated the reign of a sitting Pope at the time to only be ten years; he saw something like 4-5 different Popes just in his own lifetime.
I have to say that I'm rather impressed that the game tends to stick more to real history than convenient and made-up history. Taxes in Machiavelli's time ranged from bad to rebellion-inducing and those were just from the Cathlolic church. One of the Popes in his time also decided to make indulgences into big business for the Church and another Pope actually authorized one guy to annul a marriage in order to unify France via another marriage.
Seriously, all history should be taught this way. It would all sound pretty hum-drum just reading about it, but actually seeing the places and people recreated and interacting with fairly decent recreations of them is so much better than trying to learn it all from a lecture or something.
Just curious, does the Brutus armor have any special attributes? Because the full set of Seusenhofer armor you can get from the Blacksmith is basically as good or better that it going by the stats listed on each piece.

I notice in Manhunt my offense team often likes to race each other for the same kills. So I make a point of going after the target that's farther away to get big points and avoid them.
Also, lock on always. That way if someone else takes your kill (or stun), you still get bonus points. Those bonus points can really add up.

If I was going to make a complaint about how most history classes are run, it'd be that most of them teach shitty boring history instead of awesome rocking history with incestuous sociopaths and fat men getting stuck in bathtubs.
