I saw this on Kotaku today, it looks pretty great to say the least.

Shooting zombies, exploding cars, customizing weapons and searching for armor pieces? Yes, please. And, apparently, it's out tomorrow on PSN.

Fun gameplay:

There's a great gameplat video in the Kotaku write-up as well:

I played a level at a games con. I loved it, I remember saying it would be ace co-op ( after researching it, turns out it will be!). Each level is 20mins and looking at the creators I imagine the replay value for high scores on levels is going to be a major component of the game.

Edit: I think coop is local and on psn so we may want to compile a list of players in the op.

Ill have to download this one....

Are there any other zombie games that focus on survival more then just killing hordes of zombie... something like "I am Legend:" (the book, not the movie)

Looking for a survival type game.. ie, finding shelter, weapons, etc....

L4D, while involving shooting hordes, is also a game about survival and finding weapons.

    This game looks really great

I mean, graphically. I like what they're doing here.

    Another zombie game, though? *yawn*

    How is it folks?

Since no one has mentioned it, there is a quicklook up at GiantBomb.

After waiting THREE AND A HALF HOURS for the thing to download, I played the first level last night.

I'm a little underwhelmed. The graphics are great but there seems little to no strategy and the item collection simply amounts to healing packs, which work immediately and buying weapons at the Checkpoint Weapon Marts. You find pieces of armour but they're always in the same place. Right now it seems like there isn;t really a choice of armour either, there's always clearly a "best" one.

But, again, I just played the first level on easy. I'll try a harder difficulty and co-op later.

One neat thing is once a zombie reaches you, you can't get away from it; it just hangs on and chews so running is no good. Of course, the default melee swipe kills them in one hit so moot point.

I played it on Grim last night for 2 levels and it was way too hard. I mean, damn. I was dying 10 times between checkpoints on level 2 trying out different ways to deal with hordes, trying to set off car alarms before they would see me, and I stupidly restarted on 'normal' so I could have more of a go of it and I regret that immediately because it was too easy. My health never dipped below the 1/3 mark and I almost passed the first stage without getting hit.

With Grim... It was almost like I was playing a different game. Tactical boosting, upgrading my grenades and flares instead of my guns straight out the gate because the SMG is absolutely worthless when you're cornered and grenades make sounds to draw the zombies away, trying to time car explosions. Shit, I even tried rushing through an area because I knew there was no way I could make it.

So I'm going to restart Grim when I get home and work on my grenades and flare count/duration so I can one-two the zombies; a quick flare, followed up by a grenade. And if I can set those beside a car with an alarm, even more peachy.

Really enjoying it so far, but it might just be me. I had a top #250 score on SuperStardust HD for a little while before I stopped playing.

Freaking awesome. The end of mission 7 cockblocked me from breaking the top 100 solo campaign scores last night. I'm sure I'll be down to 3000 or some such when I get back from work.

But seriously, the end of mission 7 is total horseshit.

Wasn't there another game just like this on PSN called Zombie Apocalypse, or is that entirely different?
