"Well... what do we do now boss?" Helmholz looked toward Ramsus.
"Don't ask me! You're the failures who couldn't even destroy that fool, even with the Hecht."
"Hey! It wasn't our fault that Lt. van Houten bailed on us! She left us wide open." Vance pleaded.
"I'm not interested in your excuses, and neither will the Gazel Ministry be." Ramsus trailed off as a figure appeared at his side.
"Quite right you are. Everyone is most disappointed." A masked woman whispered.
"Wh.. what are you doing here?" Ramsus replied, shaken.
"Here to gather the report on the attack - though I think I've got the gist of it."
"I'm sorry for the incompetence of my men, I'll be sure to rectify it."
"There's no need for that - I'll do the rectifying." she said, laughing.
"What.. what do you mean?" Ramsus asked.
The woman darted toward romanqwerty piercing his sternum with her hand.
"That is what I mean. I trust there won't be any more failures." And before Ramsus could stammer out a response, she had vanished.
Later - deep in the heart of Etrenank, the Gazel Ministry pondered their next move.
"Was the attack sucessful?"
"The units we sent reported back two hostile casualties: 3clipse, and daniant
"I also heard there was a riot following the attack - they believed their former battle champion Kime took part in the raid and they had him killed."
"Hah. Fools."
"Of no significance to us."
"Does that mean the -Contact- survived the attack?"
"Yes, a worrying pest that one is."
"Bothersome"
"Troublesome"
"Worrisome"
"Quiet."
"How did he escape?"
"The Gebler unit we sent, apparently the leader of it is the -Antitype-."
"What an unfortunate stroke of fate."
"Not just that, she returned here."
"Was she detained for treason?"
"Yes."
"Good - is she dead yet?"
"No."
"Why?"
"Escaped."
"What? How is that possible."
"We aren't sure. Even Krelian seems unsure on exactly how it occured."
"I wouldn't say that." Krelian interjected.
"Hmph. Krelian. What do you want?"
"I have information for you."
"Well, tell us then."
"Such unpleasantness. You do recall that without my aid, you would all be corpses, rotting in the dirt."
"Yes, yes, of course - what did you come to tell us?"
"The -Contact-. He was seen in Nisan."
"What? Why was he there?"
"Nevermind why, let's attack, we'll surely get him this time."
"Such hastiness." Krelian sighed. "I can't permit such a reckless course of action."
"What do you mean?"
"Do you really think it a good plan to attack Nisan? The Holy Mother resides there, I don't imagine they would take too kindly to an intrusion."
"What do we care what those -Lambs- think."
"If we attack Nisan, they'll retaliate against Aveh, you imbecile. And after that fool Ramsus lost his sand-cruiser..."
"...And Vanderkaum defeated at the border..."
"...There'd be little hope for us."
"So what do you propose, Krelian?"
"I wouldn't dare propose anything to the great Gazel Ministry."
"Don't patronize us, we are the closest thing to God in this world, you should show respect."
"But of course. Regardless, the -Contact- no longer resides in Nisan anyway. He is believed to have left recently."
"What for?"
"I'm sure you can guess."
"The -Antitype-?"
"He knows where she is?"
"Excellent!"
"He will lead us straight to her."
"We can kill them both!"
"Silence. No one will harm her."
"Hah."
"She's just a human - what do you care."
"It's none of your concern. But I require her alive... for testing."
"Hmph. As you wish."
"What of the -Contact-?"
"Do whatever you like."
"Excelllll-lll-lll-lnnn---zzzzzzzzzz......."
"Tubal Cain?"
"What is going on?"
"Tubal Cain?"
"Krelian - what happened."
"Hmm... It seems that... someone has deleted Zandracon from the database."
Meanwhile, Ramsus removes his weapon from a dataring.
"That'll show those circuitboard idiots. How dare they disrespect me in front of my soldiers. They'll wish they'd never made an enemy of Kahran Ramsus."
A menacing figure clad in black stands over a man in the sweltering heat of the desert.
"Tell me what I want to know." Grahf boomed.
"Foul demon. I'll never tell you anything." Maison replied.
"Never? I can make that an awfully long time, especially for an old man. Tell me where they are."
"Your threats are nothing against the will of the King."
"Hmm. Well, as much fun as it might've been, if you've got nothing for me, I must be on." Grahf said, as he motioned his hand toward Maison.
"Oh, you won't take me that easily!" Maison yelled, as he drew his sabre and swung it at... nothing at all.
Grahf smirked.
"Such a pity." Grahf finished his hand movement, as a red fireball careened into CaptainPlanet82, leaving his body a heap in the harsh sun of the dunes of Bledavik.

Someone want to break down whats going on in the narration to those who have not played Xenogears?
this would be nice indeed
Indeed.
I'm a little uncertain about dunadan at this point. He really wasn't paying attention after 3clipse was up for getting the rope. Nothing too serious. I'm not sure if voting is open, but at this point, if it were open, it'd be on dan.

Is your point that he happened to be right on time to be around when 3clipse revealed (meaning he was watching the thread or some such) and didn't just happen to be around?
Just to clarify ;-)
I don't think that is the strongest argument if that is your argument

Well on one hand you'll have mafia trying to throw names in the thread, especially if the other 'popular votes' were mafia members (and people would otherwise go back to those votes if they had no new inspiration). I would imagine mafia to lay low (in voting, not necessarily posting) right now unless they feared one of their members might win the vote today.
on the other it's a good idea to encourage anyone to speak his/her mind as much as possible without getting immediately lynched for it. The more is in the thread the better for us, especially if those people turn out to be mafia.
shit, I don't even have a good excuse for not voting. I'm going to throw out a safety vote right now for cheez because it gives me a chance to mention that he's crafty, and hard to read.

I still don't have a vote on anyone, still, probably dunadan, but we have plenty of time to work things out more.

Hmm since no one is saying much about the backstory to this game I did some wiki reading. If this game follows anything from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xenogears then the mafia will likely be attempting to kill certain targets in particular.
"Elly, the Mother" seems like the obvious plot point of death if I'm correct. I suspect most people who do know something about game mechanics won't say anything because their survival is directly allocated with their knowledge.
I think roman was killed by some sort of village vig.
Kime died to the vote
no idea who Ramsus is but he killed the mafia zandragon
captainplanet82 I think died to some sort of neutral.
The fact that kime and 3clipse were both killed makes it so those who voted after the tie might not be mafia, then again that would be a good place to hide....

Not that they'll hold much ground this early in the game but it's more useful to have in the later days when going over the record.
Haha. I'm sure you're right . This is my first game, so...I suppose I'm just looking for reasons to vote for people other than randomly picking ;D .

I don't see why it would be. Two people with a lot of votes, one revealed. Might as well vote for the other just in case of vote powers.
