The only thing I'm honestly very interested in with this and the last Steam wishlist winning is having Deus Ex sit in my list and taunt me for months. The chance of getting 99 other games or 4 other games is just icing.
That game was literally just 99 cents a few days ago on Microsoft's game website.
Whoops, lack of clarity. I mean Deus Ex: Human Revolution, aka Deus Ex 3, coming out in a couple months. I've had various copies of the original Deus Ex for years, including the Steam version.

I should throw some games I already own on my wishlist, just in case, so that I can get digital versions.
ME2 is on my wishlist for just that reason. Getting a forever-there version that won't require leaving a disc around to spin up the drive randomly is worth more than another new game.
Well I meant, winning games and hats aside, this kind of is a sale too in a way, right?
It's a pretty devious scheme, I'm tempted to pick up Chime for that dollar...

Am I reading the "no purchase" part of the rules correctly? Can I just send them index cards saying "put me down as completing X" even though I didn't?

Yes, I'm actually sort of tempted to send in Index cards for whatever games I don't buy, just to get the zomg28objective hat.
This Poker Night game would be a lot better if they plan to support it with banter-packs or new characters.
Heavy, Demo, Spy and Gabe would be an interesting table.
You could just have most of the characters swap out with other characters from the same source, really
Gabe, Homestar, Sam, and... shit, anyone from TF2, really. They'd all be great.
Or preferably, swap Strongbad out for a character from a different Telltale game. Like Guybrush or Doc Brown or something.
In fact, I would buy the entire game again if I could get Gabe, Doc Brown, Sam, and Demoman or something at the table. (Although I realize the Doc Brown thing is unlikely to impossible due to him actually being voiced by Christopher Lloyd)
I dont know, i really cant get myself to buy this poker game. I didnt like the trailer too much to begin with, but then i watched some gameplay footage and it already contained most of the lines from the trailer. thereas i conclude this gets boring within a few minutes.

I'll be really disappointed if this is the holiday sale. Which would follow the trend of it getting less impressive each year. At least, to my recollection, the first was better than the second. That could have just been me owning too many games the second time around.
Are you guys serious?
Are you honestly considering that Valve might have concluded that holidays were a temporary marketing scam of the past and is moving on to skip it this year?

The title is hyperbole, but it's not out of the question to think this year's holiday sale will be particularly unimpressive, what with the rather fantastic Black Friday sale and now this thing running almost all December.

Most likely not, as TF2 hats would be earned by "completing objectives," to quote the treasure hunt page, and "mailing a contest entry form" is definitely not that. No purchase necessary to enter the contest, but that last hat is named so for a reason.

Alternate Entry: To manually enter the Sweepstakes, each eligible entrant must print his or her name, address, city, state, country, postal code, email address, Steam account name, and telephone number, as well as the name of the Treasure Hunt objective that the entry is for, on a self-addressed 4x6 note card and mail the completed blah blah words blah blah
Presumably, there is no difference between completing the objective, or "alternatively entering" via that objective.

There's only one possibility
incredible Complete Publisher packs up the wazoo
I'm going to hazard a statement here - if you've been through at least 2 Steam Summer/Winter sales, you will already own enough games that you're interested in from a single publisher to make purchase of a complete pack an irritatingly difficult choice.

Valve could get around it with extra game gifting. That probably won't happen, but it's nice to dream.

I already have it on the 360 and loved it.
Is the only extra stage on the steam version the Still Alive one?
I'm trying to decide if it's worth buying again.
Origin: Galedrid - Nintendo: Galedrid/3222-6858-1045
Blizzard: Galedrid#1367 - FFXIV: Galedrid Kingshand
That's what Haiku contests are for
I didn't even know it was on 360.

Offer me games at 99% off, Steam. Then we'll talk.
I would absolutely welcome Plants vs Zombies showing up
