I was dabbling in some minecraft modding and I was wondering, what's the server mod you guys use that makes trees go poof when you remove all the wood? It doesn't seem to be a part of the basic Hey0 or any of the associated plugins listed in the OP.
EDIT: Nevermind, I found it in a list of Hey0 plugins. If anyone else is interested it's called LeafDropper.
after complaining for paragraph after paragraph, it turns out the idiot forgot his own username
now, while minecraft's support is lacking, and e-mails do get lost (which is understandable, given how many he gets a day), this guy FORGOT HIS OWN ACCOUNT NAME and then proceeded to complain
then when it's all sorted, what does he do? apologize? naw
2 lines of "it's sorted" without any other explanation
related: bill are you really quitting minecraft? aw! I saw you were pissed at Notch, why?

That's my steam profile page. I guess those numbers mean that Nuka was taken. I have no plans on quitting Minecraft any time soon like Bill is, but as of right now I find my interests sandwiched between this and The Sims.
I keep The Sims in my steam list so if something happens you guys can just message me and I'll be there to deal with it. (The Sims is a pretty hefty program though so just be patient.)
[strike]Oh and I guess we're not on peaceful mode anymore? I wasn't aware of the change but just be careful guys.
I got a whole mess of seeds if anyone needs to get started on their farm right away.[/strike] Or not, Bill was just messing with settings, still be careful.
This is like pages late but you have to go into your profile settings to set a custom URL.

2 words: Halloween update.
Anyways, I'm not entirely gone yet, I still have a few things to finish up. I've installed Cataclysm though, and fully intend to get re-addicted to that on Friday
In other news: screw Javascript. I'm going to use PHP instead.

bill keeps a great server, it is true, although I feel a lot of the stuff he has on there is unnecessary. A lot of it is great, but he says mods cause a lot of problems, and there's a few mods that are a little silly, like stargate or the minecart one, plus others
and who said notch's company has to work on just minecraft? Granted that he said he's use the money to work on minecraft, and he is, but he's under zero obligation to ONLY work on minecraft. You paid for minecraft, you got minecraft, forever. What he chooses to do with the money after that is his business.
and it's an old argument, but it's an alpha, it's barebones and it's not going to work perfectly
do i think he's kind of slacking off? yup
is notch getting a little egotistical? maybe a little yup
but he's also trying to start up a multi-person company and deal with his life

<snip boring notch stuff>
Every mod currently enabled has proven to not cause stability issues. I don't jump on new versions, I tend to wait and see if the people who do jump on them have problems or not. I have no doubt that every mod we're using right now has zero effect on the server other than to increase CPU load (which is not a concern with the new VPS). Stargate isn't even enabled because it was causing issues
As to what went horrendously wrong with Halloween, the only major thing was the significantly increased requirements to run a server, for absolutely zero additional content besides biomes (wheeee). And some new blocks, I guess. If he ever allowed the option for clients and servers to roll-back to pre-halloween, I bet many would. The content he added is not worth the unplayability many servers suffered.
Edit: But hey, at least he fixed minecarts (on the third try). Oh, and him breaking leaves led to the creation of LeafDropper, which is a far better implementation than he will ever have. So I guess it's not ALL bad.

see all the complaining, and then the insert of "boring notch stuff" tells me you're less looking at what's actually going on and more expressing a vendetta against notch
which you're allowed to do I guess, but it's very petty

I snipped that out specifically to avoid another Notch argument starting up. I'm not fond of the guy, but my views regarding what the Halloween update did to SMP are pretty well backed by facts. It was just a terrible, terrible thing, and should never have happened (in that form).
Nuka, your message box is full I was going to tell you about MC1017. Seems like that would be the easiest way to implement a memory door (I'd use two pressure plates).
ummmm I may have been messing around with php when the server decided to crap out. maaayyy have been my doing. maybe. lemme see about fixing it...
edit: apparently whatever I did completely borked the network on the VPS , I'm going to have to just restart it.
edit2: well, whenever I get a chance to gracefully reboot it (saving and shutting down the map etc. etc.). maybe I'll work on the php with my own machine... or maybe that other vps I have...
Every time I ever try to join a multiplayer game I just appear in a giant empty skybox with no terrain of any kind, but usually at least a few mobs. Anyone know what might be going on with that?

Not at all. Is that something you usually have to do? My friend who made a server said he could see me, but I couldn't see him or do anything at all. I'm gonna try that and see what happens.

I assume I'm just meant to type it into chat? Because that didn't work. Considering I timed out after like 2 minutes I assume it's just general internet poopyness and I'll try once I get home and the internet doesn't go through 15 security filters before it's allowed to pick its own nose.

Rudimentary stats lookup: http://www.hiartbill.com/ Use ze input field and submit button. It's case-sensitive and doesn't auto-refresh (it does compute the most up-to-date stats when you manually refresh, but I just need to get some sort of script going to do it automatically).
I'll merge everyone into one table at some point, and then let you click on your name to get detailed stats (the plugin tracks everything down to the actual item IDs, I just summed them up for easy display).
Also, the Stats plugin is disabled currently as I jumped the gun on updating, and it actually requires an unreleased version of hMod. Oops.

he broke some stuff, yes
but he is fixing it, and improving the game
it just seems like such an unnecessary move on your part
which is like every week
this.
plus him using the money from minecraft to hire devs to work on projects other than minecraft... i'm slightly bitter..
I still enjoy minecraft, but running a server is a chore.

except for that time when I thought the update might corrupt my save
but so far that's been it

well
Really wish Minecraft didn't freeze every 5 minutes though.
