Wtf: Archaeology hotspot in Dire Maul. Southeast corner. I get the blinking green light. Move out a bit. "Can't do that here." I look at the map and I'm at the border of the area. Edge back to just inside it to survey.. green light.

Seems it spawned an item outside the surveyable zone and I'm unable to get it.

I think i've had that exact spawn point its a bit bitchy on the ability to get it but if you edge round the outskirts there's one possible spot where you can get it. Still very very annoying to get.

Prestory: My Orc Hunter alt I don't play that much was made guildmaster of a pretty much dead guild after the previous guildmaster didn't log in for the past nine months. My only plan for the guild was just keeping it around for the extra bank space. Anyway I got this E-mail from blizzard: (certain info has been deleted/changed)

So I'm torn. I know others have complained about this but I've found that I only started caring on my goblin shaman...

I finished the lost isles quest and did a few intro quests in ashzara. Then I had to shelf my guy for a few days but did the org dailies on him and just ran a quick RFC. Well, he's now 17 and the quests I can get in Ashzara are grey.

I really like being able to level fast considering how many alts I have. But at the same time I am bummed that it's so easy to miss out on the new old world content. Even if I didn't run any instances I'd probably level too fast in any given zone; particularly with Heirlooms and any amount of rest.

I guess I can always go back and just get everything via loremaster but bleh.

Huh: Since herbing is far and away the most profitable at this moment in time on my server, I've taken to flower picking on my Druid while flying between Archaeology nodes on my Priest. (I think this is why archaeology hasn't made me homicidal/suicidal yet...) You get a crapload of exp from flower picking, but now I have a dilemma. I did like 3/4 of Hyjal to get to Heartblossom a bit quicker, but that's all the questing I've done really. So now she's about to ding 84 and still has mostly welfare T10.......... Crap.

Hate: First Aid. I have made over 100 bandages without gaining a single point. I've now been stuck at 523 for over a week. I'm beginning to think the professions were this poorly designed on purpose as a way of stretching out the amount of time you have to put into this expansion.
In prior expansions I would donate my cloth to a guildmate with tailoring after maxing my first aid, but right now I just feel like I'm wasting so much cloth.

I share your pain. I've been stuck at 523 for a while now, also. I have about 50 bandages taking up bag spaces right now.

I have to make sure, but I also think they lowered the vendor price for stacks of bandages. I remember you could make some decent money with heavy nethecloth badges back in BC.

Its also super ultra lame that the "combined" bandage that makes the best bandage out of two heavy ones don't count for the "make 500" achievement. Unless its been hotfixed. But I made about 60 or so from leftover heavies I had from that miserably 2-3 point grind and didn't get a single credit.

Meh. I was going to make them the big ones anyway to pass along to my hunter/rogue since they'll get use out of them but its still annoying.

That's a significant chunk of health and it does it so fast that it can do nothing but help a healer even if you can only get off a couple of ticks.

At this stage of the game, at least, anything any class can do to help out the healer without totally sacrificing their DPS to do it is worthwhile IMO.

    Hate: Healing is stress.

I'm getting to the point I just want to go as dps and relax for a change. Sometimes there's nothing you can do but keep non silly people up while letting the rest die, even if it's guildies on an off day. That's fine so long as you can kill the boss, but most bosses can't be killed 1 man down on heroic at this gear level, tho a few can.

I also need to learn to actually stop healing them and not letting the tank die like in stonecore just now. Our tank was good but two dps were a tad slow to move from those orange pools and his other attack so I healed them a bit. Before I knew it our tank was low and it was all over.

Wouldn't be surprised by any healer (or tank) thinking fuck it I'm respeccing dps. It is great when everything goes ok, everyone knows the boss and avoids most damage but when it goes south... eughh. I'll stick with it for a bit tho. When peeps are not on an off day it's awesome.

As a tank I've become comfortable with the new model of using my cooldowns most of the time whenever I see my healer is busy.

As a healer I love the new model so much, after spamming flashheal for an entire expansion it's nice getting back to something even more punishing that doing TBC heroics in blues, healingwise. So much hinges on the group though, so I only heal heroics if I have at least 1-2 guildies along to make sure things get CCd, and not everyone in the group loves hugging aoe.

Love the new model too. It just seems that when it's bad it's really bad but when it's great it's great. There isn't really anything in between. I know that was sort of the point of the changes they made but there are some times you pay for fixing someone else's mistake later on or the damage is insane compared to the healer output and I panic. The worst bit is the panic really. It's so easy to spam all my mana away in frantic heal mode.

Guess the more practice the easier it will get.

Happy: Glyph of entangling roots. Not really useful in a raid but incredibly useful in a 5 man. Best glyph.

Hate: Trying to save up for the Baradins Wardens flying mount but the freaking 2h sword is, damn near as I can tell, the best 2h I can get pre-raid on my paladin.

I'd just do it because well, those are dailies that will be around for awhile but fuck the Tol Barad dailies are the worst fucking dailies in the history of dailies.

EDIT: To make it worse, every time I've logged in my paladin in the last week, Horde has controlled the island, meaning no extra badges for me to make it easier. 200 could be relatively trivial as far as dailies go, considering the shit I went through for the Argent Tournament. But not ever controlling the prison makes it just seem all the more meh.

But I should just get the f'ing sword because it has an actually meaningful effect on gameplay whereas the mount is just a pretty toy.

Hordeside on Windrunner is underflowing. When I dropped my toon there as dead weight, there were roughly 400 active members according to the census polls. And the entire 400 sucked.

Do some talking to some of the guys that run PA guilds-- I'm sure they're assholes as well, but hell: you already spend time posting and and talking with us kinds of people!

I will say that I have never once heard an anti-semitic slur volleyed about like a tennis ball on the PA forums, so there's that. I can not say that about any other wow subgroup I've ever been a part of.

Think of it this way: you're already in the hole hundreds of dollars to WoW-- would you buy an expansion that changed the way people you played with acted? I would. I did.
