*Crazy woman makes vague list with several good points and several bad ones
*People point out that a lot of those aren't true because they come up with an example that makes it untrue, seeing as the points are not well defined enough to refute them
*People point out that a lot of those points are true because they come up with an example that makes it true
Basically it IS a really shitty list, but not because most of the things listed are objectively not rape
Its a shitty list because it doesn't define well enough what IS rape, leaving the reader to come to wildly different conclusions on its viability through their own interpretations

If a girl asks me to buys something for her, I say no and then she asks really nicely
She is a thief.
See what I did there! It's nonsensical and offensive to women!

I want to do with you
What spring does with the cherry trees.
Obama's talking about the tax deal. He mentions having to choose not to keep up a political fight and have a bunch of people lose unemployment benefits.
I like the bit about how if she doesn't explicitly say "yes" or "no" then it could still be rape
I don't know how y'all do it but verbal communication tends to fall by the wayside at a certain point and if she's the one taking my pants off I think that sends a pretty clear message

51. Do not get frustrated with a woman if she doesn't trust you. SHE already knows that rapists don't wear signs on their foreheads. Something you think is innocuous SHE may find terrifying. yepYeah don't be offended by being automatically categorized as a potential rapist because you have a penis.
its not nearly as bad as you guys made it seem
honestly I do not trust strange men who come up to me. they may be perfectly nice and respectful people but the number of times I have been harassed far outnumber the times someone wants to have a nice conversation. so I find this "offense" thing somewhat frustrating. be offended by all the pieces of shit out there that have made me cautious.
The point I take from this is not that every man is a potential rapist but that women have learned to be careful so don't be annoyed if she doesn't trust you as much as you think she should, because there are a lot of douchebags out there.
but I realize I am giving it a more forgiving reading than most of you gents

Yeah sometimes words aren't really necessary, especially when she starts without you (though if this happens guys then you have been raped BE AWARE)

Or: If a girl asks you to buy something for her, you say no and she says you're a worthless penny-pincher and she's going to tell her relatives that she never should have dated you
I think what I find repelling about that list is that it exudes hatred for men, and tells women that they are weak and need protection from the entire male sex. Especially towards the end. Basically, it places all women into the role of victims, and all men into the role of at least potential rapists. It makes women look completely powerless under these all encompassing raping male overlords.
Yeah this is where I'm at. So many of those points assume women are basically powerless and stupid and unable to resist against any sort of pressure whatsoever from a male.
And it is poorly written because most of those points are super conditional and beholden mostly to the mental state of the participants.
But I am willing to accept that most of those things could be called rape under certain conditions.

It does seem to paint women as having extremely weak wills. It does make me wonder at what BAC things become morally questionable. I would think below .2 you're good to go.

12. If you don't bother to ask her permission and she says neither 'Yes' or 'No' then you could be a rapist.

N-no!!!
I am thinking about sex while posting this Grey Ghost
Also definitions of rape that revolve entirely around the existence of unequal power structures are fucking stupid. I'd like to see one of these people go all the way and include race and class and come up with a manifesto that reads like "If the person you are having sex with is not of the same ethnicity, net worth, or BMI as you, it's rape."

I actually don't think this one's objectionable, because of the word "could"
if you don't get an explicit yes then it absolutely could be rape.
That doesn't mean that it is, just that you have not removed any and all potential for it to be
Again, you guys are pulling a different interpretation and acting as if its the only one, so OBVIOUSLY its objectively and completely wrong
So I'm pulling out because I'm not going to refute every 'BUT IF HE DOES THIS THING...!' post
If a statement is true in some situations but not others I don't think it is valid to say the statement is true. Taken to an extreme, "It is wrong to have sex with females," is true in a lot of situations; minors, animals, extremely drunk people, but I'm comfortable with saying the statement is false.

yep me too
you said it a lot better than I could have!
Is a woman who coerces an unwilling man into buying something for her in some capacity victimizing that man? Yes.

i think i had this once, or it mightve been just a regular headache
kidnapping
You know that bit in the Matrix where Neo first leaves by using that mirror
and the shiny stuff goes down his throat and turns his scream into a cool electronic sound effect
That is what I thought of when i read that except instead of Keanu Reeves a sexy lady.
coerce is a really strong word
there is a difference between coercing someone into something they don't want to do, and convincing them that they do want to do it.

I think everyone here generally agrees with you and just takes more issue with the way the thing is written than the actual points made therein
