But how am I going to explain that to him? I couldn't even explain to one of my customers that her trouble downloading a PDF wasn't because it was 2 MBs. People believe the stupidest shit.

People cheat Ramadan pretty well, all waking up before sunrise for a big meal, and eating a feast as soon as the sun sets.

There is an art to cooking that feast and being unable to taste the food as you go along to make sure it's seasoned right.

Yeah, unless you're hitting up crazy amounts of streamed video it's pretty tricky to hit that without downloading something, although it's pretty easy to lose track of downloading stuff from steam, and WOW is probably a good 20 gigs now.

I don't think I could live on 2 gigs a day, I think my morning GSL streams usually end up being about 3.5 gigs.

I should see how much a netflix stream is but really it doesn't seem that horrible I mean if they are anything like when I use to torrent shows in Japan, a standard 30 minute episode not in hd is about 150 mb. A movie of about 2 and a half hours was about 1 gig to 750 megs depending.

That and often times ISPs only count downloading towards bandwidth and not upload, which is what online gaming leans on.

Actually people tend to start with something small at sunset (a couple dates, some water or milk), then a small meal later in the night and maybe a small meal right before bed. The big meal is usually the one before sunrise, like you'd mentioned. Ramadan dishes, outside of the ones on Eid ul-Adha at the end of Ramadan, tend to be extremely simple and common foods, so they're easy to cook without sampling them. There are also several, like dal and other lentil dishes, which you start before sunrise so you set the seasoning then, and let it cook all day.

I tend to stream as a way to keep my adhd down. Having netflix on the ps3 now will probably make me worse. Though I am nothing compared to what I was in Japan since to get any of my tv shows I had to torrent them. That adds up pretty quickly but I had an awesome connection. No top limit, 100 mbs up and down for 60 a month.

The nice thing is, if I get my own place, I won't go with the ISP that caps. GCI is the company my landlord is using, because they also provide cable, but I could just go with ACS and they don't impose a limit.

The thing with most Middle Eastern cooking is that the seasoning is relatively simple. Lots of spices and herbs, but in fairly regulated proportions. When you grow up seasoning all deserts one way, all finger-foods another, all meats another, it's easy to make them without sampling them.

Also entirely possible that granny has diabetes and can't fast anyway, so she just sampled while cooking.
