And, yeah, Mori, the pacing in Uncharted 2 is pretty incredible. I found there were very few points that I could resist playing it just a little bit more.
Yeah, I was basically like 'I don't want to stop playing, but I'm getting pretty tired and want to experience this game fully awake.'
Also, I'm probably gonna end up renting UC3 when it comes out, but I am gonna buy it sometime afterward because dammit I want Naughty Dog to keep doing what they're soing.

The train part is really excellent.
Uncharted 2 is a game I kept making my friends watch me play.
I think that got annoying to them though, because while all of it is great if you are playing.. it might not all be awesome to watch. Some parts definitely are awesome to watch though.
There are pretty much only two games I bring out when I want to impress people who aren't avid gamers, or who don't have a PS3: God of War 3 and Uncharted 2.
Mori's not at my absolute favourite part of UC2 yet, so I won't say what it is, but based on reactions I've had, it's just as incredible to watch as to play.
Well we're more than ecstatic, definitely. There are a few people near me keeping tabs on whenever the Metascore changes, so that's fun.
Fun fact, there was a point where two reviews (of the thirty available at the time) were lowering the Metascore a whole point. Kinda just shows how silly the whole thing becomes at that end of the scale.

I see Eurogamer gave the game an 8. Which considering 8 is EG's 'we're too scared to give this game a 7 incase they yell at us' score that they usually give to big games they don't really like, is a surprise.
I mean 8 is a good score, it can just mean almost anything at EG.

I've seen EG give out scores as low as 3. But there are certain games that they will never score below 8, because the people that publish those games pay their wages.
That's no refection on UC3, which I am so excited for that I bought 2 versions of it by mistake, but 8 is just their weird go to cowardly score. Like, they'll borderline trash a game in the review, and you're expecting a 6 at the end at most, and nope it's an 8.

Are you guys getting a bonus based on metascore?
We all get fired if it settles at less than 95.
What if you get 101? Do you get to meet Jesus?
They have to fight Batman. He's the only person who gets above a perfect score.
I do feel bad criticising the series because the games have great characters, voice-work, look absolutely gorgeous, and have fun little stories. But man, I just cannot play them.

This is how I feel 100%. I like the setting, and characters and all that. But goddamn the gunplay is just not fun for me.

I actually hated the gunplay in UC1 myself. UC2 basically resolves all of the problems I had with it.

I do like the shooting in UC2 a lot more, but I can't explain why, because it seems like the enemies take just as many shots to take down as they did in the first one.

For me it's because the fights in UC1 were pretty standard long distance cover firefights, whereas in UC2 they're all wrapped in these incredible set pieces. There's always some element that makes the fights exciting. Even if the actual shooting mechanics didn't change (and I can't remember if or how they might have), the context for all of the fights improved drastically.
What massively helped the combat in UC2 was the stealth kills you could pull off. I pretty much made it off the train wreck in the snow by sneaking around and breaking necks. Pulling people off ledges was hilarious as well. I had run out of ammo at the temple when the heavy armor guys came out. The only thing that saved me was the couldn't target me while I was hanging on the edge of the roof. Was not a fan of the minigun troops. Took way too much to kill those fucks.
Yeah, @Sheri liked watching UC2, and I'm gonna try and get her into UC3. Same with Batman.
Yeah, Mrs. Sneak watched me play through all of Uncharted 1 and most of Uncharted 2. I have a feeling she's going to not let me play Uncharted 3 unless she's at home with me.

It was so satisfying clearing out an entire area stealthily and not having to fire a single shot.
Mori, honestly, maybe just start over if you don't remember what's going on. You're not terribly far into the game.
Huh? I remember what's going on. Did I say that I didn't remember?
Oh no, not at all! But if I haven't played a game in a while, and play something else, I tend to forget what was going on, and just start over.
Oh yeah, I usually do that too, but I was so early on that I remembered what had happened. And it hadn't been that long since I last played it, maybe a couple months?
Played up to chapter 19. Man, that temple area was super awesome. The yeti creatures not so mich, but I barely fought them so no big deal. Game continues to look absolutely gorgeous.
Also, Tenzin is such a boss. I love Drake talking to him, then realizing there's no point.

This is an understatement
I loaaaaaaaaaaaaaaathe Uncharted combat so much
admittedly I really just wanted another puzzle-y adventure game
Even watching another person play - and one who isn't killed every 5 seconds - is still frustrating there is SO MUCH SHOOTING.
Edit: SO MUCH.

I'm with you, sis.

Which will be awesome because I just bought a 3D TV last night after my sony burned out.
Now I need to finally get around to playing Uncharted 1 and 2
