I find a lot of people just dont really think about it too much and assume its unnatural. I once came across a person who was spouting the 'im not homophobic I just thing its wrong and unnatural' nonsense. I pointed out that homosexual behavior is common in the animal world, so by what measure was he judging natural? Being a person who could respond to reason it kind of made him pause, it helped that he wasnt religious, as that can be a massive stumbling block.
Also on the choice thing, the American dad thing summed it up perfectly, can you, as a straight person, CHOOSE to be gay? Not just sleep with men, but be genuinely attracted primarily to men, or exclusively to men, if not, then its not a choice. The whole choice thing just seems so horrendously absurd to me I dont know how anyone can frame it that way. Why the hell would you choose to be gay?
This kind of insanity can only be maintained within a religious framework, I just cant fathom it any other way.
Also there are so many damn militaries that allow gays and they havent had any reductions of morale.

Is it weird that I come from a family that is half from India and half Christian hill folk and I can't think of a single one that has a real issue with gays? My "Always votes Republican and goes to Church 3 times a week" Grandma thinks that they are cute (which I don't know that that means), and my dad only wants me to not be gay so he can have biologically grandkids.

Allowing homosexuals to marry was effortlessly compared to abortion in the last church sermon I attended and it doesn't even seem weird to be homophobic

My church is the same way, but less so with the outspoken hate. Still being in church I usually have a expression for two hours. I ditched it a few months ago and my dad keeps trying to get me to go back and join Youth Group and things like that.
He thinks I don't enjoy church because I don't "fellowship" with the other church teenagers. Basically I'm not friends with most them and I have no interest in being friends with them.
Also as an aside I've know a few really obnoxious outspoken Christian-evangelical types down here. ALL of the them have hit on me or turned out to be in the closet. For some reason that really doesn't sit well with me and I generally dislike them for it.
