this episode was AWESOME, the hastily woven spectral zip-fiddler was genius

and while it isn't my favourite comic, the enthusiasm they had for the punchline was pretty friggin infectious

i hate to say it but i definitely found it kinda hard to watch with the camera bobbing around and zooming in/out, it got kind of annoying by the end

the bobbing is really just my personal dislike of the handycam style "faux-amateur" style of shooting

but I really don't see why there is any need to zoom in/out on mikes face three times during one long shot of him lying in one place on a couch

Too much motion. Makes the room look claustrophobic.

Can they really write good comics under video surveillance? The last two 4th Panels have seemed rather uncomfortable, and produced inferior comics. I guess they know best.

I still feel nauseous from the constant zooming and I'm not one who gets nauseous during shaky cam sequences in movies. I understand the zooming to either highlight a moment or give an alternate shot to cutaway to, but a zoom on nearly every shot is too much. I don't think 2PP was on tripods during their 4th panels, but they didn't zoom nearly as much.

Agreed that the camerawork is trying a bit too hard.

Aside from that, hilarious as usual. I thought the comic itself was pretty poor on its own, just a perfunctory reference to a stale meme, but the context of their writing process makes the whole thing much funnier.

I guess that's the difficulty of this kind of work - you just don't know how your end product will be received by people who don't share the context in which you've created it.

    4th Panel, hilarious as always.

I have to echo the thoughts on the camera work. Zooms are effective when they have purpose. Some shots included multiple zoom in + zoom outs. That's just ridiculous. There also feels to be a lot more shake than last season, but it could be just me.

It's not an action movie. It's two guys talking about silly things. A bit of imperfection in the steadiness and a bit of choice zoom usage will enhance the conversational feel, bringing the viewer into the room. Going over the top just feels out of place and takes focus away from the content.

Also the pan & zoom to the empty spot where the TV used to be.

Stylisitically, I honestly didn't mind the camera work too much.

    DEAR JERRY.

The zip tag on a pants fly has teeth. If you turn the zip downward so that it is vertical, after zipping it up, the teeth will grip the fabric and prevent it from moving downward of its own accord.

    Camera feedback has been noted.

Your reputation makes this sound very sinister to me. Like, "oh, sure, we'll mention it to them in the next production meeting." Except the next production meeting happens at the docks, at midnight, with a fully-loaded cement mixer standing by.

    Please Khoo, don't khill 'em!

And yeah, I agree that there were some great moments like panning back and forth between Mike and the ball, and the extreme closeups on Tycho's groin. (I never thought I'd type that, but there it is.) I wouldn't want to discourage that kind of goofing around, just a little more restraint on the normal shots.

I'm on TWC in Ithaca, NY. When I leave HD on, it definitely isn't conducive to streaming. I have to let it pre-load to 50% or more. Without HD I haven't had any problems to speak of.

Man I was totally fine with the camera. Being on a tripod makes it so much harder to capture kinetic, unplanned events like the ones that happen in the PA offices. I'd rather put up with a bit of wavering while the crew finds the right spot than missing out on moments that require more freedom to capture.

I think I got a Ford electric car commercial. I don't mind getting some variety; I watch these a ton, and different (if non-game-related) ads are better than getting a facefull of Bayonetta's crotch every time.
