Where to buy movie posters?

So I've had a framed copy of a The Return of the Jedi movie poster forever (the SE came out when I was 12 and I've had it from about that time on) and I was thinking of maybe getting some others to decorate my entertainment room, but I'm not sure where to get them.

I was looking at amazon and they had some companies that were selling already framed posters, but they were more 'fan' posters than actual movie posters. I'm looking for the ones you'd actually see in theaters that have the title, cast list, etc. in order to match my current one.

A good selection would be nice as well. I think I'm going to stick with my geeky roots and get a Scott Pilgrim versus The World one, but not sure about the others.

Are there any big comic conventions in your area?

Not that I'm aware of. Honestly the only places to really buy comics near me is a place called Great Escape and a hole in the wall shop (I've never been in it's new location, but the old one had very little). There's probably a much larger selection downtown, I guess I could look through the yellow pages or something.

All of the movie-only stores shut down a long time ago, so I'm not really sure where to look locally to buy them.

I don't mean a comic shop. Like I live by Chicago and Wizard World holds a convention here every summer. There's usually a half dozen or so guys selling movie posters at that.

Have you tried the obvious? Googling "movie posters"?

It returns tons of results for online shops.

Yeah. But I was hoping to get some recommendations on reliable ones. I have an irrational fear of buying from shops I haven't heard of without going through a trusted portal (like the Amazon marketplace, still can get screwed there, but there are reviews and other methods of getting contact info).

Don't know what I was thinking about comic shop=convention. No there aren't major ones here that I know of, in October there was a smallish one, but that's well past.

When I was in college, every month or so there would be a kind of half-assed marketplace set up one day with jewelry, kettle corn, what have you. One of the stalls sold movie posters. Probably reproductions of classics (Star Wars, Scarface, Indiana Jones), but also more recent ones. So my advice would be to check out local schools and see if they do that kind of swap-meet thing.

I've bought a lot of posters from www.AllPosters.com the last few years, hell I even stay on their mailing list. The cardboard tube is fun to play with too.

They have everything: movies, concerts, vintage, etc.

allposters.com is pretty good. Collider.com is a movie news site that often links to people producing alternate posters for classic films, like these minimalist Tarantino and Burton ones. Some of them are awesome :D

    oooh, and these. And these!

The Alamo Drafthouse's store does some fabulous alternate posters, and they're limited editions so they're a bit more collectible than prints. They only do runs of a few at a time, so keep an eye on the store.
