It'll depend on how your department is set-up I'd say. At my school there are two specializations, critical studies or production. I am in production and it runs students bones to the ground.
This next quarter I'll be looking at spending about 80-90 hours within the studio, on top of 16 other credits which involve writing a feature length script & preparing an outline for my thesis in the spring.
The two specializations at my school are grouped into Digital Media production and Radio/TV/Film production. In the Film production you can take up to 60 hours and the courses separate into editing, producing, scriptwriting, etc.
Still no courses on porn though.
E: The final thesis production is seperated into Cinematography, Producing, and Directing.

My health is being tagged as a leash for me. "You are too ill to leave home, if you do it will get worse". The entire family is in on it.
Thing being I am a weird place with my health right now where I can't exactly refute the statement.

My university supposedly had a course on porn for a while, and I know the sociology department does studies studying the effects of porn on viewers and will pay $200 for students to watch violent porn and then take a survey.
I always wished someone would pay me to watch porn.

Our school's department doesn't have a thesis but instead a senior colloquium (which I will take in the spring). But since I am double majoring in philosophy I have to do a thesis for that as well.

Just curious, by why double major? According to my friends and my sister it's one of the hardest things you can do while in school! One of my friends double majored in Latin and Archeology.
Also, why philosophy?

I have a passion for philosophy (especially applied ethics, which I happen to be specializing in). Double majoring hasn't been too difficult and in four years I'll be graduating with two majors & a minor (which don't look too bad on a resume?).
The way I ended up deciding on philosophy is oddly refreshing. I was originally majoring in public relations but after a couple of classes was too disgusted by the lack of ethics or even integrity in the students/classes. I than remembered that I had taken an Intro to Ethics course and had gotten the best grade in any course ever (with the least amount of effort) so figured I had an aptitude in it & as well as it made me feel good about myself.
Majoring in philosophy makes me feel enlightened and has the attitude benefit of transforming me into a better person.
My first year and so far an average of 79, which is ok considering how little effort I put in. Im hoping to improve next year.
Also I got credits in courses I thought I would fail, in fact I deserved to fail in, so pretty undeservedly pleased with myself.

Philosophy classes, if they are interesting enough, are awesome. I only got like, a B- in my intro ethics course last year but I still came out with what I thought was a different outlook on things. It's interesting. I also just finished bioethics and that was an experience too.

In my Intro to Ethics course I answered the most difficult questions in class, ran study groups and scored the highest on the midterm & final exam.
The end of the quarter I sat down with the professor (who is now my adviser) and heard him tell me how great I was & how I should look into majoring in the program. I than had to break it to him that I only read two of the assigned readings during the whole twelve weeks.
Double majoring, provided the programs are in the same general field of study, is relatively easy provided you can suck it up and do things like take classes during the summer to ease the load/graduate in four years if you dont have certain pre-reqs met. Also taking internships during the summer to count as credit for requirements really helps.
I had previously thought that I could never do double-majoring, and im finishing up my last semester of it next spring. I've only been doing it for two years effectively (with a summer class and internship in between).

Hi just wanted to tell you all I'm spending upwards of EC$1000 (about $350 US) on this application process.
I better get into a good college I swear to fucking god.

I'm the same as I really didn't start my major courses until my Junior year.
So, I've recently come to the realization that I have no idea where I want to go to college or what I even want to study anymore
this after being so sure of my ambitions to go to art school for so long (as long as i can remember, yo)

i don't know what I want to study either!
also on the common app it says that I still need my teacher stuff sent in. How does that work? It says we are using naviance edocs
For a few years I went to some art colleges and design studios and whatnot. Then i kind just made my art a hobby and looked for something else to do. A friend suggested I become a teacher because I like talking and im engaging socially. I reflected on it, and asked my parents if theyd support me. Luckily enough they said yes, so at 23 I decided to start my degree. Majoring in History and minoring in English, love my uni, love the sense of drive and purpose.
It was a gamble and I was really lucky I had supportive parents, because basically I had no job prospects, which was part of the reason I decided on doing a course with a career and bankable degree in mind. Moneys not a big concern for me, I was hesitant to find work because there was nothing I really enjoyed, but I love this, so its made things a lot easier. It pretty much came down to 'what do I like studying, but can also get me a job when I graduate that i'll enjoy?' so teaching secondary school was it.
i have no idea what i want to do and that is terrifying
At any university you have around two years that get an idea about what you might want to study. That is the reasoning behind liberal arts required courses.

Unless you are in the accursed Graphic Design program at CWU.
then you have to start taking classes 1st year and if you haven't done all of the prerequisites by junior year? Tough shit.

Chill out, dude.
You don't need to know what you want to do in life while in high school. Shit tons of people switch their majors in college. Most universities give you at least all of freshman year to figure out your major, so relax. The most important thing is to pick a school with a lot of options.
Also, I'd recommend engineering! Ass-rape for four years with a damn good job on the other end. If you want, you can wear a monacle and laugh at all of your unemployed friends who went into liberal arts!
(Nobody does this. Also, the employment gap between engineering and liberal arts schools isn't that big, although it is there).
yeah if it makes you feel better I have graduated from high school and college and am partway through grad school and don't really know for sure what I want to do! I'm okay with it.
Thirded. Other than wanting to do military service, the only thing I know that will be happening after graduation is that I'm probably going to drink more.
I swap what I think I want to do so much that I eventually just gave up and said; "Whatever, we'll see what happens when/if I get into college (oh god I hope I get into college)."
And if you're in high school I guess that should be the main worry right there.

so (and to all my pa fb buddies, sorry this is a cross post)
I made the decision that if I get into CSU Long Beach, i would be a fucking moron not to go. From what I've heard, their english department is fucking ridiculous and it would be really good for me to go there. the only problem would be leaving my entire life behind to go to smelly southern california, also I might be too old for housing, so there's that too.

it is awesome to get a bill with finance charges when it's the school's fault that they haven't billed the prepaid program for your tuition
also when they try to charge you for a mystery book that you somehow checked out and lost before you even had an id card with which to check out books
edit: and of course, student accounts automatically puts you on hold even though they opened seven minutes ago so how could they possibly already have a queue that is five minutes long
