I havent done all heroics but I the ones I have done most of the mobs if not all of the mobs in packs are stunable. So 3 warriors in a group means mob is stunned to death usually. I know when I usually run with a rogue between shockwave, rogue stuns and CB we can usually lower mob dmg by tons.
Which would work great, except the warrior stuns all come from Prot talents. And you're not going to get 3 prots in one instance.
Unless blizzard changed it up and I didn't pay attention because it didn't effect me... Concussion Blow and Shockwave are still prot talents, right?

Yes sir. I think Arms has some talent deep in the tree that gives a stun or disarm or something, but I don't know how many take the talent and/or the cooldown (speculation: 45s). I don't think Fury has anything.

Oh hell, if you're counting silence/inturrupts, just give me a rogue and we can make sure a caster doesn't get a single spell off, except for the spells I let off on purpuse to reflect back in their faces.

Hey now I am not trying to be overly argumentive I was just stating that the group had some utility I love reflect. Especially with the bosses that spam spells. Also with the interrupt thing that would require a Rogue that knows what kick is I had this rogue in H Deadmines yesterday that didnt have a single interrupt and died to the fire so many times. He also failed at Super Mario Bros part at the end and couldnt find the entrance to the zone after we had already wiped to furnace boss.

The only person I see interrupt anything is myself. Even on bosses. I not at the heroic level yet (still waiting for the damned blue relic to drop), and every time DBM pops up that the boss is doing something that needs to be interrupted, I'm always the one who does it, regardless of which kind of tank it is. And I'm the healer.
Rogues have completely forgotten how to kick. Hunters never use Silencing Shot (if they have it) and BElves never do their racial silence thing.

Kick is a pain in the ass because it requires energy (when we are already trying to stay energy-starved during rotations) and is subject to global cooldowns. I still try to kick when necessary, but still.
Edit: Although it seems better in Cata, they might have changed something and I forgot :P
Edit2: Ah, they halved the energy cost, that's why. Sweet.

I thought they took all interrupts off the GCD, but I may be making that up. Pretty sure skull bash and wind shear are right now. Can't reliably speak to others.

I vaguely recall something like that, they might have.
I just know Vezax was a PAIN IN THE ASS because when it was my turn to kick, I literally had to stop attacking (other than auto-swings) to make sure I had enough energy to kick. Otherwise there was a VERY good chance I wouldn't and he'd get a cast off.

You don't need to be hard hit capped to be fury. Soft hit is fine since that guarantees specials will hit. Sure, with normalized rage having more hit is actually important now, but it's not going to cripple you if you don't have 27% hit.
And no fury has no stun. And no warrior has a feasible crowd-control ability that locks down a mob for more than 10 seconds.
Wed maintenence better mean 4.0.4 patch, with fixed Tol Barad, guild XP gains, lower mats on all profession recipes, meta gem requirements (more blues than reds can go to hell), and all the other crap they screwed up with this expansion. *sigh* A man can dream...
It's like they took everything they learned from Wrath, put it on the floor, and took a huge steaming dump on it.
And let it harden in the sun? I mean they even went back to the bring the class not the player with heroics
If you press the button as a tank it's damn scary what you get
what do you mean by this?
The renewed emphasis on crowd control has made some classes a lot more valuable than others in certain heroics.
basically, dps warriors/spriests/dps dks are much much less valued?
well shadow priests have shackle which is nice in some situations, as well as mind control.
What Warriors and DKs lack in crowd control they make up for by their ability to off-tank as needed.

Ah. See, I didn't know about Rogues, since mine never really make it past 40 or so.
I just know that compared to BC and Vanilla, Rogues were relied upon to kick, and would often do so when needed. But I also know Wrath has killed that, and that's why I'm not seeing anyone but myself really interrupting it. Recount confirms it usually. I'll have something stupid like 5 interrupts on a boss and no one else will have even a single, tank included.

Oh come on now, I remember when BC was the same. When a new expansion hits, there is definitely that cooling-off period where not everyone is geared and everyone is learning all the dungeons. As such, things like CC are a necessity. I can almost guarantee in a few months that will probably be going away as more people gear up and learn instances.
I have not personally run the new content, so I could be wrong, but I am basing my opinion on past experiences with Blizzard content.
True, but unless they add some kind of consumable to the vendor like gems I'm not sure how many significantly geared folks will be running heroics.
As it is right now if you're in all heroic blues the only reason to run a dungeon is for the daily valor points and after that you'll be done. (Unless you want heirlooms ... but the kinds of folks who play enough to get heroic blues quickly also likely have a few sets of heirlooms).

The big difference between now and the "bring the player not the class" shift is that back then there was one real tank and like 2-3 classes with reliable cc. Now there are 4 viable tanks and pretty much every class has cc. If you put together a group with 3 melee dps and no cc you're bringing it on yourself, the dungeon finder will never do that.
It does, or, at least it used to I've gotten slammed into groups with like 3 mages or 3 warriors before.
The dungeon finder will never put two of the same class into the same role (melee dps/ranged dps) unless they've queued together, in my experience.
This isn't true. In Wrath I had a group that was 3 DKs and 2 Pallies. Certainly a freak occurrence but it happens.
I wonder how they'll change Hallow's Eve now with the current state of Southshore.
"Here, go take these Stink Bombs and...oh."
Now that Cata is released, they can't rely on their excuse for not updating any of the holidays this year, and so hopefully they'll do something and not just remove the associated quests and achievement.

Cataclysm has sucked me back in, and I asked in the mage thread but I'll re-post here: My old guild took me back and they are level 6; the passive experience ability gives me a 10% boost to experience. Does this 10% stack with my heirloom shoulders?

Of course, this is where you state that you're Alliance scum and such a thing will never work out....
Heroics have gotten increasingly more doable over the past couple of days--I guess because of a combination of people gearing up and becoming more used to them. That said, I agree--no one interrupts nowadays. I'm left doing it on my shaman using wind shear between heals.

I always thought keeping enough energy for kick was simple - you just treat 15 energy as 0 energy and never go below it.

the new heirlooms work to 85, i.e. the cloak and head.
requires your guild to be level 20/25, so if you dont mind waiting a few months
Ah, I see. I stopped playing right around the time those things came out, so forgive another dumb question: Right now, I only have the cloth shoulders; are there other items that I can get that boost experience gain from heirlooms? You mentioned guild level, but I'm not going to wait until glevel 20... any other sources? I saw a goblin warrior with the mail shoulders and the axe, but the axe didn't appear to grant any xp gain. Are the shoulders it?

"Hey guys let Stay of Execution tick a couple of times so that it's not impossible for me to heal you back to full."
5 wipes later, boss not downed, left. It seems we have trained them too well - it's the same problem with getting people to stand in Efflorescence, lol.
You don't want people to heal to full on that fight. If you're trying to, then you're doing it wrong. The boss should be immediately interrupted whenever he casts taht spell. If the group is doing that and still wiping due to player death, it's the healer's fault.

It was 30 energy. That's almost 1/3 of our total. And one mutilate alone costs 55 energy - two mutilates (from a full energy bar), given a second or so for the extra 10 energy to regen, puts us at 0 energy...

chest, ring, shoulders, head and cloak increase xp gains. on top of this, the alch. book proc and guild perks will also help.
things you can buy now: weapon, chest, (ring), shoulders.
heirlooms now cost JP (utter bollocks if you ask me), so if you've just started you're unlikely to be able to afford them.
the ring is obtained by winning the northrend fishing tourney.
Didn't have the pvp gloves handy?
