Beefheart was an incredible musician who did great stuff alone, as well as with Frank Zappa, and he was an influence on countless other musicians including such people as Tom Waits.

This is a bummer.

    Ah, when I said introduced to the Beefheart, I did mean his music. Sorry for any misunderstanding.

    My friend's dad insisted on listening to his music, and it was my first proper introduction to him
