Slight mix up - the BBC will have a 15 minute tribute to Elizabeth immediately before the Doctor Who season premier. The 15 minute tribute after the show is on CBBC. I'm assuming the CBBC one will be directed much more at younger viewers.
I've only seen it mentioned as 'a tribute' before the premiere; no mention of duration, and 15 minutes sounds very long for BBC1.
That said, I'm extremely impressed with the turnover time. It reminds me of the Screenwipe about kids' television, which came out in the week Oliver Postgate died, and they managed to throw an *incredibly* moving tribute sequence in to the end of the episode.

Yeah K9 was my favorite Companion from old Who when I was a little kid. He was so god damn useful they had to start writing in methods for K9 to break just so he wouldn't automatically save the day.

I kind of want to know how they explained it; did they go all "She's gone to sleep" or was it more honest and straightforward?

Do you simply hate adorable things?
A koala bear killed my dad.
And kittens raped my mom.
Also, I'm a child of the Ninth Doctor generation! I don't need the tin dog. I've got the superfluous black boyfriend.
Man I am a child of this generation too.
But if you hate robotic dog assistants then you hate life, good sir.
Hell, they don't even have to be robotic.
Ace the Batdog.
Krypto the Superdog.
Rin Tin Tin.
Dog assistants are simply the best.
Do you know what it will do then?
Kill. It's all that dog knows!
Why I fear the ocean.
I mean for god's sake Snowy.
Snowy.
K-9 will become Friender.
Good dog. Best robot hunter.
I just got this T-shirt but I cannot identify all the doctors, namely the second on the left.

But not all shows are fertile ground for such an experiment
Nah even then it'd be weird.
(I drew the Silents, so if you dont wanna see them yet than don't click)
I clicked this by accident.
Do not make my mistake!
But I'm putting it here anyway because it's too huge not to share.
Please tell me it's a red herring.
For those that don't want a big spoiler DON'T CLICK IT
I never finish anyth
I think they could handle a little music
They just grate on my nerves.
Considering Douglas Adams' history with this show and Moffat's love of Adams, I could really see that first one happening, at least as a reference.
