They should have taken "older" Amy, but not had her wait for as long, just a year or so, to roughen up her edges a bit. I can see how that would have affected The God complex though.
That's true, but it's nice to have a fully realised and developed male companion who's kept a straight head and been nothing but excellent with each consecutive episode.
At least in comparison to Mickey, who we only got to see every now and then, Captain Jack, and ugh Adam.
Wilf should've gotten a whole series with the Doctor though.

I don't see why developed Rory has to be mutually exclusive with a non-damsel in distress Amy though, I'm sure they can both have some meaningful contribution. Who knows, maybe they are spending this time on Rory so they can move towards that down the line.
