Man I didn't know "not blowing it up" meant giving it to TIM. I mean, fuck that cocksucker, but just blasting all this crazy Reaper-tech to nothing seemed a goddamned waste
Who were you going to give it to? The Alliance? The Council? At least with Cerebrus they'll give those resources back to you.

bioshock 2 is the inverse of the first bioshock. So instead of the opening section being amazing and hooking you immediatley, instead it kind of sucks and you have to trudge through it. But where the first Bioshock kind of drops off after the Ryan confrontation, Bioshock 2 just gets better and better and ends really strongly.
Yeah Bioshock 2 has a really good story, You just gotta get to the end of the story for it to really pull together.

I hear the Minerva's Den DLC is very, very good and has a great self-contained story on par with the best writing in the first game. If I had bought Bioshock 2 I would be interested in playing that.

I still can't get past what Sovereign said in the first game about organic civilization following a specific technological path, hence why I'm hesitant to allow anyone to wield Reapertech.

Okay, I can understand the reasons for keeping the base, but come on...
It is a giant floating hive of evil, full of technology used by a race repurposed and enslaved by the Reapers, with the sole purpose of capturing and harvesting all organic life in the galaxy.
At what point does it sound like a good idea to give it to the human supremacist dickhead?

Last night I was sitting up late after playing hours upon hours of Mass Effect over the past couple weeks and reading my new D&D Player's Handbook Tossrock got me for Satans and it occurred to me that there really should be a tabletop game based in the Mass Effect universe. It couldn't be more perfectly set-up for the format.
It was something that hit me while reading the entry on Dragonborn and realizing that they share a lot in common with the Krogan.

well
the line is about how the citadel and the mass relays the reapers left behind form the basis of much of organic civilization's technology
and so the reapers are able to easily exploit and manipulate that technology, as well as predict how it will advance
but the collector base wouldn't apply. it was never intended that any organic species that wasn't already a pawn of the reapers would find the place, and so isn't designed to push anyone towards any goal. it's probably just filled with straight-up super advanced reaper tech which could prove EXTREMELY handy

Jesus, ME and ME2 for $20 total. If I didn't already own them I'd be all over that! I wish I had a friend to buy it for who has a computer that can run it. The one dude I know who'd love it has a shitty, old Dell and just got a 360.
I'm about two hours or so in the game
and I'm playing on casual

I want a computer that can play videogames. Then I'd be all over Steam, buying all the awesome games for cheap, spending all my time playing them, not getting anything else done...
On second thought maybe it's just as well.

Your entire team only dies if you are a terrible, terrible Shepard.
even terrible shepards can't kill their entire team. you seriously have to deliberately avoid paying for ship protection and certain loyalty missions, and plan how you can put your specialists in the most inappropriate task for their skills so they will be killed, and plot how to murder your toughest members so the remainder can't hold the line at the end. the amount of deliberate negligence it takes to be a shit shepard is unbelievable
