I want to see Udina rally a failing defense line with a stirring speech before personally leading the counter-assault, slaying husks with steely glares and harsh put-downs.
alternatively I'd like to see Udina revealed as some kind of cyborg monstrosity under the skin like Saren
and you confront him and there's this dramatic reveal where he looks like a menacing machine of death
but then you one-shot him and realize he's the same worthless dickbag he always was

The instant the reapers show up, you just know Udina will try to bargain with them and be the face of human-reaper relations.
And then they'll kill him in some horrible manner. Most likely a tentacle up the butt.
I took it out because it's been a while since I played and I realised it wasn't canonical (i.e. the ending they went with as the default start of ME2). Because in the Renegade Udina is my homeboy ending, you wipe out the council and instate a human-only government, don't you?
I never saw it coming. Me and my flatmate who'd both done Paragon runs where we saved the Council, watched the ending cinematic with our jaws on the floor. So badass.
Did you guys who didn't like it play it on the Xbox or PC? I wonder if that had anything to do with your enjoyment.

Yeah, the PC being able to be modded and patched easier might be the difference. The chest mod at your camp alone is a godsend to store equipment and items.
I played it on the Xbox myself, but then I really like old school RPGs and it tickled my Baldur's Gate bone. I was kind of disappointed to hear that DA2 is going more ME2-style. I liked that they were so divergent. I guess it was BioWare going in two totally different directions to see which tickled people's fancy.
yeah, I agree that it's kind of a shame that DA2 is going more the ME2 route
I really like the multiple openings to the game depending on your background as opposed to everyone just being THE PROTAGONIST - now choose your class and gender
there's nothing about DA that would suggest it'd be my kind of game
I just kind of heard of it and assumed it was gonna be Mass Effect except fantasy and I guess lots of melee combat or something and didn't bother to look into it further
DA's storytelling was fucking great, it's the only game I can remember playing where I was genuinely not sure about what would happen when I was picking dialogue options. They're writers earned their checks for sure.
Unfortunately they surrounded that story with a homely, slightly busted on consoles game and I'm not surprised that they're going more ME2 with the sequel. I'll play it anyway, being a giant Bioware whore, but I'm with Dru. I wish they'd kept the structure more like the first one.

I'm excited for dragon age 2
I really want shapeshifting to be a cool and not a complete waste
Dragon age 2 looks cool, and considering the improvements from me1 to me2 i'm sure it will be great, but yeah whole "The Protagonist!" idea kinda bugs me, and i still can't watch any promotional thing for this franchise without getting annoyed.
For most of DA1 you were simply The Protagonist (Warden) anyway though.
you're completely missing the point some of us were making
you can't see the difference between choosing your race, gender, and class and having that determine which of six opening sequences you play through compared to only being able to choose your gender and class and playing through the same opening every time?

Yes that is exactly what I want

Anyway I was disappointed he was an asshole to you in ME2 after that, but not surprised at all.

Looking forward to starting up ME2 again. Maybe next week though. I'll give a rest.
Need some stuff designed or printed? I can help with that.

Couldn't get into DA, played it on the PC and just enjoyed The Witcher way more.

But brothels.
who needs brothels when you've already got a galaxy with asari?

What spring does with the cherry trees.
Several people have commented on playing it and all of them have said that it was pretty good.
how is shapeshifting a waste?
