Blergh. Have to go into Uni today to grab a load of my stuff from my desk for over the holidays. This means paying for a cab on the way home 'cos I can't carry a lot of stuff. I hate being a cripple.

So I started it today
Like it so far, I was just commenting on the contrast of the two or three introductory missions and then BAM MOTHERFUCKERS TANK AND SHOCK TROOPERS ON YOUR ASS

So is it commonly accepted that race is solely a social construct, which this guy is trying to deride? Because it seems from what this guy is saying is that it's not solely due to arbitrary social constructs, that there are genetic traits (such as the propensity for certain diseases, etc) that distinguish races specifically from genes.
The concept of race is socially constructed because you will find as much genetic variation between members of the same 'racial group' as you will of people between different groups.
Visible genetic differences have more to do with a persons ethnic origin than any sort of 'race,' and even then are pretty insignificant.
Basically race is an invention created to justify oppression, alienation, or superiority.

Seriously I would keep it over my Wii or DS or 360 any day

I've only played VC2. It was fun, but it seemed to lack depth.
It also got me thinking about how "school specialising in X as a hub" for a computer game is fairly common. Or maybe I can think of one other example and that is it actually. Hmmmm.

VC2 has some insane, insane motherfucking depth
it's just really, really easy
but the depth to the combat system and class specialization and team deployment and base capturing is fucking insane
I got to the sneaking level.
and it ruined me.
Takes 30 minutes to get to the other side of the map and then a dude pops out of a bush and one shots me while I have full health.
