Are they nice? I'm considering getting one, now that I have a son who's old enough to not sit there on the floor like a slab of Jello.
I want to vidya-tape him doing little son-like things and post them on the interweb (read: Facebook) so my family can witness the cuteness my seed has brought upon this world.
What say you, forumers? Are these incessant commercials touting a product worthy of their pitch? Should I run, post haste, to Walmart and drop my hardly-earned moneys on one just in time for the xmas festivities?
Or should run, run far and fast to a product of better craftsmanship?
this review sums it up nicely http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t1z0A8YjMZ4
basically for the money you're better off looking at other brands, unless you want something quick and easy to use and not something that does it all (which you can likely find for cheaper)
I really like Sony's cameras, and some of their Handycams aren't too badly priced.
http://www.amazon.com/Sony-DCR-SX44-Memory-Handycam-Camcorder/dp/B0031RGKY4 is the one that I've used a good bit, and it's pretty, if the touchscreen is sometimes a little iffy. It spits out normal MPEG2 files, so you should be able to just throw them on youtube, or do some light editing in Movie Maker or whatever else you want.
It isn't the most attractive camera, but its feature set is hard to argue with for the price, and the video quality isn't bad. Pretty sure Consumer Reports rated the Kodak series the highest for mini digital video cameras.

Think I'm gonna change the thread title then, since I need digital camcorder suggestions.
