I got through it to some harbor town or something, and as far as I could figure I needed to do something on the other side of the lost woods to progress
but you couldn't backtrack through the lost woods until you had done the thing in the harbor town
I dunno it might have just been a case of being bad at video games it was years ago
I still feel deeply betrayed by how golden sun ended halfway through the god damn plot it set up
but I wanted to give this DS one a chance
and I really like the battle system
and it is god damn gorgeous at times
but oh my god it is so brainlessly easy there is basically no reason to play it

If it was possible to graft guys who are good at writing character dialogue and stories onto the guys from Golden Sun that do the graphics and gameplay, the resulting game would be pretty great

but it is so goddamn easy it breaks my heart and also makes me mad at video games
it gets hard later
(later starts at the second half of the final boss)
I was really surprised it ended when it did
I mean
I had the roc feather and I was gonna get my glider and do the southern continent and hang out with Isaac and find Piers banging some 17 year old and oh man what is dark psynergy I bet there is light psynergy let's do this thang
Then *BAM* it was over
I am happy with the promise of a sequel, especially because I'd completely forgotten about the mourning moon thing
But all the plot points being tossed out and the way the game had felt so easy so far made that boss fight feel very much like a middle of the game fight (see: Poseidon)
oh man, I remember when I first found Poseidon and I didn't have that trident
or when I fought the regenerating serpent a dozen times before I realized there were some vines outside of his den that you used to climb up the mountain

Every time I play Lost Age I always spend 2 hours in Air Rock walking in circles and moving the same blocks around when suddenly something clicks and I've somehow found what I was looking for and I'm on my way out

I still really liked it though
I was honestly kind of expecting something like that after the first to games, a climax to the current adventure with a bunch of open hooks for the sequel
I really wish they would've started up the main story sooner than 2/3rds through the game though, and I would have liked to see more of the original cast
really enjoyed it though, hope the next one doesn't take 6 years to come out

Yeah, considering the other games I guess it wasn't too surprising
But I still think most of the game felt pretty easy, I only had to retry the final boss once and I think I died maybe twice before that in the whole game
And I don't think I ever really had a very satisfying "a-HA!" moment with any of the puzzles like I did in air rock
Also the second venus adept felt super tacked on
And the story really meandered for a long time
I really did like it way more than I'm making it sound
Edit-Fiz those are both still stupid and I will never reverse my dissapointment of final-wotter unless he is awesome in the anime

The ending should tick you off plenty. It is very easy though. Post game dungeons are pretty tough though. I'm having to grind some to get the more powerful summons. Not gonna attempt Dullahan for awhile.
Himi was a pretty big disappointment. They definitely just kinda threw her in there. At least they kept connections to the old games with her being Susa's daughter.

the nerd chapter hit close to home though
also fuck the treadmill thing

I would definitely say I like it better than Paper Mario 64

The art style is what made me buy it.
I don't get why the other M&L games weren't as good

i think superstar just kinda came out of left field and was really good
and they tried to follow it up without putting as much effort into it (or maybe too much effort in the wrong places)
plus honestly the babies are kinda dumb
just total shit
Bowser's Inside Story was just sort of blah. It had good bits but eh
http://www.audioentropy.com/
it has all the tools to be really fun
but it is so goddamn easy it breaks my heart and also makes me mad at video games
bowsers inside story was good in a lot of parts
but it wasnt great
i know this is a typical dumb argument
but im right so
about
video
games

what would that add to this power dynamic
maybe I should

i'm just not sure i have the wit and dedication for it
it gets hard later

as far as I could tell I got stuck in a way that would require me to restart to fix
kind of soured me on the series

this sounds like like the difficulty curve of the superstar saga games, funnily enough

Me too.
I was in some kind of thieves' den and just got lost forever.
I spent months of playing on and off before I figured out to just tap A in front of a little light shooting out of wall
I was so happy when I figured that out, I've loved the series ever since
I was really surprised it ended when it did

I guess Wotter's final form does still use a sword. But not in the way I wanted.
This is just as good, I suppose
