i guess the hardest thing i've done is deciding that yes, i was actually at risk for committing suicide, and that constantly thinking about death counted as 'suicidal thoughts' and that i needed help. there's a lot of stigma that comes with that realization that you are now counted as mentally ill
medication didn't really work and i'm off them now, but i have an appointment for a psychiatrist in january so there's that
some schools of thought prefer different types of therapy
i remember some of what backwardsname said about therapists that focus a little less on straight up talk therapy and go for "training" someone to rectify negative behavior IE: suicidal ideation
i wonder what kind of success they've had with that
for example, i love being lazy when i am holding down a job but a cat procrastinate a lot when in between jobs and talking to someone who knows where the distinction lies between being depressed as fuck and just kicking it is

being suicidal is pretty much no fun at all. i was pretty much five minutes away from quite literally putting a shotgun in my mouth a while back, but i could never put my mom through that sort of thing again.

well, considering that you'd have to consciously end your own life, and take in account the suffering of others around you when you're gone, I wouldn't call it completely cowardly
Also probably the hardest thing I've done is visiting my aunt after she had a stroke.
Rehabilitation isn't going so well, since she has "nothing" to fight for to regain. We try to motivate her best we can, but really, what can you do?
