Radius is going to give you a test after you've played for a season
Speaking of Cricket tests, who else is enjoying Australia's collapse in the Ashes?
Anyone....?
Hello, is this thing on..?
Just me then. Well, I'll be over here, snickering in the corner.
You mean the Christmas day test or the overall collapse?
I was talking about the Boxing Day Test (Which I suppose would actually be Christmas day over there), but the overall collapse is as entertaining as fuck as well.
Pop trivia: Did you know that Washington played Cricket with his troops at Valley Forge?
remember, if there's a terrible game you want me to play in my grueling alphabetic steam marathon you'll have to get it to me by the end of the year
no arma 2 please
that is what we call in the biz a "dick move"
Damn.
Hey, at least Operation Arrowhead fixes most of the issues.
I really like the idea of what they were trying to do with the vanilla Arma2 campaign. Its just that it was too damn ambitious for a game series already famous for having crazy mission scripting errors.
I wish someone would try that again with a more arcady open world shooter.
oh god
there's this one mission where the game is like "raid this base and kill the general"
which is all well and good and you do it mostly by cheesing the retarded AI
but then the general can apparently leave at any time and just wander into the forest at any point in the six-hour-long mission
and the only solution is to wander around the 225km^2 map hoping you bump into him

Oh, yeah, I guess it was Boxing Day there.
I did not know that about Washington, but it makes sense. Cricket is awesome. I didn't get why it was so complicated until I tried to explain baseball to a girl who works with me who is originally from Ethiopia and knew absolutely nothing about the sport outside of its existence. Once you get past trying to figure out the lexicon and focus on the context and what's happening, it makes much more sense.
It's like the skills of baseball but more challenging mixed with a little bit of the hanging out and shooting the shit of golf and a dash of crazy "anything can happen" mixed in.

what the fuck
This is basically what is keeping me from putting ARMA II on any "Must Complete" list.
See, this is part of the problem with most explanations of sports that have a lot of common terminology that you are expected to know:
At either end of the pitch is the crease. This is a line marked about
4 feet in from either end of the pitch, and it is used for 2 reasons.
The first is as a mark from which the bowler must bowl from or behind,
and a mark for the batsmen to stand at to deliver the ball and to mark
whether a run has been completed. If a batsmen is out of his crease,
he can be stumped by the wicket keeper if he is receiving the ball at
the batsmen’s end, or can be run out by the fielders at either end
when taking a run.

That's.... insane.
The crease is essentially just a live ball line. There is a crease at either end of the pitch.
The bowler must be behind it before he releases the ball, or else his team is penalised with a 'no ball'
The Batsman is safe while he is behind it, although can be stumped or run out if he leaves the crease when the ball is live.
Runs are scored by running from one crease to the other when the ball is live.
I'm going to lube my wallet up and fuck it until it decides that generating money out of thin air would be good for it and me.
Then I'll buy Mount and Blade Complete while it cries in the corner.
That's how wallets work, right?
are you out of funds?
Yeah, pretty much.
I have enough for a bullet, though. Can't decide on what to shoot. My wallet or that old guy that flashed me yesterday while walking to the drug store.
Is there a point in having the original Mount and Blade if you have Warband? I never got around to playing Warband much (even though I own it), I just thought it was pretty much the basic game with some added stuff, like a deathmatch mode.

mount & blade went from being a rather good tech demo to one of my favorite games of all fucking time
do not hesitate for a moment to pick up that deal

bwahahahahaha

I remembered Jerry liked it, but that review has locked up my purchase.
I don't know how the hell to play cricket
If yes then you won three crumpets.

If no then you lose all crumpets. If the goose was a serious goose the opposing team gets all crumpets.

Ahahah, yeah me too.
I'm really loving the game, but I had a moment of incadescent fury when my savegame vanished the other night

Operation Arrowhead is only $16 if you own ARMA 2, so that's a lock, and Cricket Revolution is like three bucks.
The hard choice will be the King's Bounty pack.
What sort of mods do you play with (if any)
for less than the cost of a cup of coffee, you too can make Kuribo's Shoe miserable
Then I'll buy Mount and Blade Complete while it cries in the corner.

is it possible to win the M&B campaign yet

like I've gotten most of the way there
but after a certain point it becomes impossible to expand any more because the friendly AI is too stupid to hold castles effectively
and you can't run across your empire fast enough to defend everything yourself

it's possible, just gotta be real good
also you'll probably just have to accept that you'll be a prisoner at least once
what are the good mods for MB that are out right now?

You mean Scarlet Blvd, of course.
Thanks NaS, I really am the greatest detective aren't I?
